The Voxel Agents won Game of the Year for its adventure puzzle title, The Gardens Between. Team Cherry, meanwhile, picked up Studio of the Year after a stellar 12 months that saw its celebrated game, Hollow Knight, rise to new heights of success on the Nintendo Switch. Two individuals were also celebrated for their contributions to the Australian games industry: Hipster Whale's Giselle Rosman was given the Adam Lancman award for her long-running work with the country's development community, and the Industry Champion award was given to Liam Esler, who has worked for several Australian developers and spent four years at the Game Developers Association of Australia. The remaining awards were not divided into categories. Instead, eight more games were given equal honours, each receiving a trophy as the most distinguished Australian games of the year.
