Quote The Department of Justice asked a federal judge to declare that Tennessee’s law banning gender-affirming care for kids violates the U.S. Constitution. “All people, including transgender youth, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect,” the DOJ said in its complaint, as it joined a lawsuit filed by parents of transgender youth. The DOJ’s intervention in the Tennessee case is the latest effort by the Biden administration to enforce transgender rights under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.
