NYC mayoral contender challenges New York Times for defining candidacy by marijuana use

tl;dr she is a highly-educated (Harvard, Columbia) non-profit leader who got reduced to two policy positions and an off-hand comment about weed when every other candidate profile actually listed the candidate's prior accomplishments.

 

Others' policy leanings were generally listed as "running as a progressive" or "running as a centrist" whereas they start hers with "defund the police" and end it with "edibles" as if to say "you respectable white wealthy New York Times readers shouldn't even consider such a candidate."

A candidate for New York City mayor lashed out at The New York Times on Wednesday for defining her candidacy by her use of cannabis.
