  1. I used to be a beast at Tetris back in the day and the best I ever got was like 600 lines. These guys are hitting 1500+, which is pure insanity.

I can't get over the "rolling" technique all the top players now use. Rapidly tapping the back of the controller to move the pieces . Most "rolling" players play with the controller backwards. It's nuts.

  2. Well, I agree about Howls moving castle… which is the only other Miyazaki movie I don’t really like much. But… I like Howls Moving Castle much more than The Boy who does Heroin. I’ve seen most of these movies 5-10 times. When my kids were younger they were in heavy rotation.  I’ve seen Howls about 3 or 4 times. I don’t hate it, but it (was) my least favorite by far.

My tiers for Miyazaki movies are…

S Tier: Totoro, Mononoke, Spirited Away, Kiki

A tier: Castle in the Sky, Nausicca

B tier ( still great): Ponyo, Porco Rosso (have only seen once and a long time ago, but it didn’t really stick with me)

C tier: Howls Moving Castle, Boy and Heron

(I have not seen the Wind Also Rises)

  3. Maybe I’m alone in this opinion, but I really wasn’t impressed with this one. Confusing overloaded plot that was borderline nonsensical. Zero relatable characters. Everything felt random and it felt like the rules of the world were just being invented on the fly as it went along.

The whole movie kind of felt like at any moment a character would pull out a piece of pie and say… this is magic pie and if you rub it on your back during a full moon you get to make 2 wishes but they can’t effect anyone who has touched a sacred tea cup and you only have 30 seconds and you have to speak your wish with your eyes closed and standing on one leg, or oh no, you did it wrong and now you’ve angered this new character we met 2 minutes ago and now the entire world is unraveling unless you can put this ancient marble that we’ve never talked about into the eye socket of a giant monkey statue… but wait, you have a special feather that stops the danger and also, this is your mom or maybe not or maybe it is, or not… or it’s this other lady who we confusingly also call your mom and uh, sure man…

It was beautiful and very nice to look at… I liked the first 45 minutes or so but then it all unraveled fast. Definitely my least favorite Miyazaki movie and I’m a huge fan…

  4. HeyyouDVD didn't shift from shit. He's always been a shit brained mealy mouthed vile little dipshit who believes in nothing... whose brain is a pathetic lump of malleable jello that has been molded into a ball of pure hate and lunacy by his cruel manipulative overlords who lead him around like a braindead little twerp idiot.

He is an irrelevant moronic vile idiot and who makes the world a worse place simply for existing in it.

Just a heads up, David Thewlis as Varga was season 3, not 4. He's the best villain in the franchise next to Billy Bob Thornton for me. Just true evil.

Yeah, I just had a brain fart mixup. I know he was season 3.

I don't even remember who the big bad guy was in season 4. I guess some Italian mafia guys.... or maybe Chris Rock's acting coach?

You’re probably thinking of NewsMax which is to the right of Fox. Newsweek’s non-opinion articles are often fine.

My understanding is that the current version of Newsweek is a clickbait content farm that spews out recycled news that been rewritten by an army of 22 year olds being paid like $15 an hour to fart out 10+ articles a day.

  7. I think most republicans imagine living in a big scary city to be something like living in Escape from New York or something. They spend so much time making everyone terrified about big city living.

It's kind of funny how right wingers are allowed to just trash blue states and big cities endlessly with a non stop barrage of slander, hyperbolic fear porn and straight up hate... but if whenever anyone prominent on the left says something slightly disparaging about small towns or red states they lose their fucking minds.

It's also funny hearing Fox News propagandists (and Trump) doing it because every last one of those vile lying grifters lives in Manhattan. These guys wouldn't last 10 minutes in small town America. They are so full of shit.

I don’t know what support or updates for these devices will look like if they’re going to not be sold anymore. I’d hesitate to run and grab one unless there was some sort of fire sale.

Support will continue. They are already apparently working on a software update that disables or changes the blood oxygen sensor somehow that will let them continue to sell the new models.

I'm sure this will be resolved in a matter of days or weeks.

It's kind of funny, since the blood oxygen sensor doesn't even really work that well and is a feature that probably used by roughly 1% of Apple Watch users. They could probably just turn it off with an update and no one would even notice.

  9. I don’t have a lot to add besides piling on the total shit show that is discord.

I don’t really use it much, but there are a few communities for games I play where it is the only source of information… and woof, the UI feels like it was designed by a million monkeys with a million typewriters. It’s so bad I’m not even sure where to begin to criticize it… but as a super casual user without a lot of experience with it, I find everything about to be completely unintuitive, baffling and user hostile.

  10. I’ve always believed that if republicans really wanted to get rid of illegal immigrants all they would have to do is come down super duper hard on the American businesses who employ them. Pass a bunch of laws that excessively punish any business found with undocumented workers…

But of course they will never do that, because the hard truth no one wants to admit is that our economy (and those businesses) are dependent on these laborers. It's also funny that the vast majority of the very industries that depend on immigrant labor are the same ones that give so much support to the party that is constantly calling on measures that would actually harm their bottom line.

Republicans don’t actually want to fix the problem, because then they would lose one of their main methods of keeping their audience outraged and angry.
