Wasn't there literally a meme a year or two ago like:

Media: "Trump accidentally pooped his pants"

MAGA People "He would never do something like that!"

Trump: "I shit my pants on purpose!"

    Life beginning to imitate art.

Trump Media, the owner of the Truth Social app, trades under the DJT ticker. Former President Donald Trump is the majority shareholder of the company.

I would say he got paid well for that job.  But this is Trump, he's probably getting "new phone, who dis?".

How soon until we get Trump and his supporters just straight up shitting themselves in public?

Back in 2016 they had that thing of ordering coffee under the name Donald Trump to make the liberal baristas have to yell "Donald Trump" at the Starbucks.  I suppose shitting your pants to trigger the libs is an evolution from that.

If it were limited to the gambling degenerates, it would be one thing, but it's probably not coincidental that gambling has proliferated/permeated everywhere at the same time that economic/social conditions have deteriorated for large swathes of society.

The poor are a lot more susceptible to pull of gambling, and not even just America.  I work with offshore people in India and the Philippines, those people love to gamble all the time, they love talking about it.

When the sports betting apps came to Ohio, I signed up for a couple, put my $10 in. Bet on random crap, not even fully understanding my bets sometimes. Between the money I put in and the bonus bets they gave me, I was quickly up a good $250. I started to feel that it would really easily get its hooks into me (I’m already up by so much, this is so easy! I’ll never lose! And if I do lose, I just need one big bet to win it all back!) and it freaked me out. I cashed out and now whenever I want that rush, I just watch Uncut Gems.

Fuck Ohio and that legalization of sports betting.  The ads were nonstop everywhere, you couldn't go anywhere without seeing shit for Draft Kings, BetMGM, Hard Rock Sportsbook, etc just on and on.  Every billboard between Mason and Cincinnati on I-71 and I-75 was pushing some betting app or another.  I started to miss the Blake Maislin billboards, they came back though, so the world still spins thankfully

Btw, I worked in an office that overlooked the Norwood lateral, I worked in an office that had a view of that billboard until COVID sent me home and I never had to go to the office again.

The simple fact he got elected in the first place is a total condemnation of our society. This whole thing needs to be burned to the ground and rebuilt.

I mean it sucks that damn near half the country thinks this imbecile should run it.  But keep in mind the majority of Americans have never supported him, at the polls or otherwise.  He lost to Hillary Clinton, a woman the Republicans had been demonizing for over 20 years, by 3 million votes.  Biden effectively campaigned via Zoom and widened that gap.  Nikki Haley has been out of the running for damn near 2 months and is still grabbing 15% or so of the primary votes.  I think ones Trump shuffles off to hell there won't be many to keep this current shit together with the GOP.

I’m still not sold on the polls. I think Trump still not being in the news enough is helping him. For one thing, cameras should be all over that courtroom.

It’s been wall to wall for a couple weeks now thanks to the trial.  I just think polls this far out are unreliable, plus the news will promote polling to increase the outrage clicks from the left and the excited ones from the right.

I held my dog’s paws with tears in my eyes when the vet gave him the medicine that would end his suffering. It was the most gut wrenching moment of my life (well, until my dad died months later), and this was over a dog I initially didn’t even WANT in the first place.

FUCK. I hope bad things happen to Kristi Noem and only Kristi Noem.

I had to put mine down in October after a long life.  I stayed there petting him until the vet confirmed he’d gone.  He was also a handful, did not care at all for other dogs.  But being a responsible pet owner I took care, I didn’t shoot him, get a taste for blood and then brutally kill the cat too.

  7. Everytime one of these goobers gives a weird talk someone calls them a tech baron or a titan of industry.  They always end up being someone who started something you've never heard of that sold to a bigger company and then they turned into a finance bro at some VC firm.

Apparently this guy started Counsyl, I worked at Myriad when they bought Counsyl, the people up top got paid, the workers were all told to move to Salt Lake City and take a pay cut or no more job for them.

Oh, and of course he was in on cyrpto during that whole thing...

No quicker way to kill growth than the paywall, so will Threads or BlueSky be the successor once he finally sends this to a farm upstate to play with MySpace.

I think part of the issue is that people aren't actually trained (or not trained effectively) in how to be productive while working remotely. Learning some best practices for setting up a proper work space in your home (Or Starbucks or whatever, I dunno where you fuckin hippies work) can help a lot, as well as minimizing family distractions. You're always gonna have some people in unstable situations at their homes for whatever reason, but I don't think the solution is a big expensive office building to force everyone to be miserable so the few weirdos who "like" going into an office are happy. Perhaps a better solution would be a company laptop and getting your ass to a quiet place like a library or the park or working in your parked car like a creepy weirdo.

There have been times I've thought about getting a plan at one of those coworking spaces, to have someplace to go.  But holy fuck are they expensive.  Companies aren't going to subsidize that, because you might as well open an office somewhere with what those places charge.

I worked at a place that was full bright overhead lights, open floor plan, and mood music playing loudly for executive vibes on the floor (not the offices), if it wasn't music it was movies, do you know how hard it is to focus on tedious tasks when Batman is screaming "pray to me!!" blowing out your ears daily. It was super miserable to focus on anything.

There was a while where a lot of the companies wanted to feel like a scrappy startup even if they weren't.  Open plan, brick walls, ceiling open to the steel roof, could hear a pin drop from across the room thanks to the echo... if there weren't 150 other people in that room.

  11. People have options now, the hour commute, the monthly cost for parking in the city, and expensive lunch options are not things a lot of people are wanting to go back to.  Especially when you can get on LinkedIn and scoop up a remote job.  It also didn't help that before COVID the type of people who didn't have to work in these offices were coming up with layouts for these offices.  Fuck your noisy open plan tiny workspace shit.

I wonder if there is any connection to these dogs behavior and the popularity of rescue animals.  My mom has rescued 4 dogs over the years and each one has had some sort of odd behavior. Before that they always paid good money for a puppy and the dogs grew up to be pretty great. I also encounter a lot of dogs in my travels with work. Im not surprised when I encounter a customers dog, that I think is odd or untrustworthy, and then i hear it’s a rescue.

I think being dumped by the owner that raised them screws them up.  I had a rescue shepherd.  He was great, but definitely had some problems, if I yelled at him he'd drop and cower and I'd feel bad, I never once hit him.  He also loved cats, but hated small dogs with an otherwise uncharacteristic fury.  But he was a loyal sweet dog until the very end, as long as he didn't catch a small dog in his sightline.

  13. I work for a New Jersey based company, I'm the only one who doesn't live there.  The Teams chat was blowing up yesterday.  Also last year I was having a call with my Indian team lecturing them on getting the tickets I assign them resolved more timely when they had to evacuate because of an earthquake, I told them to be safe and we can talk about it tomorrow, they called back 10 minutes later from the street, I felt bad.
