NOTHING stops addicts from getting their fix.

Found out my brother was shooting H because I walked in on him pulling his sock back on like it was the crime of the century. For people not familiar with this, a lot of people shoot between their toes if their arms are getting too fucked up and/or to not have trackmarks on their arms in the first place

  2. This was pretty disappointing I thought. It's pretty and has tons of good actors at its disposal but felt tedious, rather boring and lacked any emotional weight in my opinion. The whole ending sequence should've been heavy but lacked any impact. I was just kind of glad when it was over so I could go watch Don't Look Now.

  3. Got this game as a present and at about 4 hours in, I throw in the towel. Going in completely blind and this might be one of the most boring fucking games in the history of videogames. I love Point & Click games and all sorts of things but I have no idea what this is supposed to be even. I keep waiting for an actual game to start but it's like one gigantic cutscene of the worst Horror movie I've ever seen with random QTEs.

I don't get whatever this is at all. It's dreadful as a movie, there is literally no gameplay outside of pushing a direction once every few minutes, the characters' uncanny valley-ass faces are ten times more terrifying than anything in this "horror" story and it's paaaaainfully slow. I actively tried to get the last character I "controlled" killed just to see if that'd be any fun but no such luck.

Just based on my enjoyment, this is legitimately one of the worst games I've played in any recent memory whatsoever. Just baffling.

Am I in the minority for preferring Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness for their horror-comedy take vs straight horror?

I like them equally. I saw Army first because it was the only one not banned in Germany at the time. But the first one just blew me away. On a rough-ass VHS/CRT, it was pure terror.

Fun fact: I once was in Bruce Campbell's house helping feed his cats. In the mid-2000s a friend of mine moved to Oregon and per chance ended up employeed as Campbell's landscaper. They became really friendly and whenever he'd go out of town, my friend wouls feed his cats. When I came to visit him, it was one of those times. Truly surreal and funny. Ironically he lives near a town called...Ashland.

Brian was cool as shit even with the curly mullet  You should check out the other two versions of the Blob. By the time this one came out I had seen the other two because they were syndicated on local TV and would awlays play around Halloween. This one is definitely the best of the three. The closest thing we've gotten to a remake was that movie Lifeform from a couple of years ago... also an underrated creature feature.

...It was the early 90s, I also wanted that curly mullet :pikachu:

At least I’m getting my Little Shop of Horrors musical remake I believe soon (ScarJo, Egerton and Evan as The Dentist) I think it’s my fav musical, got high listening to the soundtrack and see it for what it’s really about. Sure I was high, but tell me I’m wrong. The movie is about a serial killer (Seymour)battling his inner demons. Audrey is the good angel pushing him towards good and Audrey II being the devil as he starts killing again. (He feeds it his/others blood) I say again, because he was adopted as an orphan. It’s Dexter The Musical.

I don't know man, I don't think Roger Corman's movies were typically that heavy on subtext or anything. BUT I also haven't seen any of the later remakes/iterations so who knows!

That would be remake number... 3? Remember the really underrated one from the 80's with Kevin Dillion?

    I member!

I'm gonna be honest, I've never seen any other version of The Blob. I grew up with this one because it was a rental store cheapie. I must've rented it about five times total. And I wish I was kidding now but I totally idolized that Brian dude in the movie and was obsessed with getting a leather jacket like that because of him lol.

Reminds me of when I watched The Human Centipede and the only thing that made me wince is the guy tearing the IV out of his arm near the beginning. :p

Also have you seen Syriana? There's a nice nail ripping torture scene in there you might enjoy.

Have not seen Syriana. But man, the nail scenes REALLY fuck me up and I feel like I've seen some of the grossest movies out there.

  9. This is like when in the Texas Chainsaw remake from the early 2000s the dude's (?) fingernails get ripped off graphically trying to cling to a wall. THAT made me wince, physically get up and hiss. Prior to that, we saw a leg amputated via chainsaw and all kinds of utterly grisly shit yet that's what did it. I assume it's exactly that we can't relate to something that over the top but a nail ripping? Fuck yeah and it's awful.

The Evil Dead movies are some of my

favorites and no joke, I genuinely feel like they look better the shittier they are.  I have the 4K versions of them and boy, they were never made to be viewed that way.  You can see everything and it’s very obvious they just hung some spotlights on top of the roof.  I still love them and enjoy watching them this way, but I do wish there was a non-shitty version of a CRT filter or something that would make it look grimy.

I admit that I've actively avoided rewatching Evil Dead on 4K for this reason. The 4K remaster Blu Ray of Suspiria kind of did a number on me and turned me off big time. I haven't bought any old school Horror flicks besides things I already know will look spectacular, like John Carpenter's work, as 4K editions since.

For whatever it’s worth, the Evil Dead remake a few years back also looked like terrible generic trash but it turned out to be shockingly good.  Not amazing or anything and it will never have the cult impact of the original, but for a totally unnecessary remake it was very enjoyable.  I’m kind of hoping for the same out of this.  The remake was extremely gross though, so I’m probably waiting for this to come home too.

Yeah I mean I'm also aware I'm not the audience here so I always feel like Old Man Yelling At Cloud with movies like this. Back in the day we had a similar system to the Video Nasties thing in Germany and we'd scour our version of Fangoria to find the classified lists offering dubbed tapes of banned movies like Evil Dead. They'd spell them backwards, no joke. You'd send the equivalent of about $8 and get a long-play VHS tape with two movies on it and a bunch of trailers if they fit. Seeing Evil Dead for the first time on a mega-shitty VHS copy at 12 or something felt like you were literally watching Satan about to come out of the TV. You never saw all the visible blood tubes, superimposed fullmoon image and all that.

Unrelated really to this movie or my post but a fun anecdote that just popped in my head. I think on the tape with Evil Dead I also got Maniac.

Yes! I litteraly gave up finding the last one.

I'm not kidding, it's around the corner from the first one in a crevice above you. I hadn't played it in probably three years and forgot this part entirely and it took me about half an hour or more to find it. I was so pissed when it turned out to be just above the other one.

I absolutely loved it until near the end. I litteraly got stuck in where to go next and YouTube wasn't of any help! This was only last October I believe. Great game.

Coral nodes on the Talos I Exterior per chance? The game kind of falters in its objective descriptions in the last few "missions" and relies too heavily on the objective markers which I always turn off. That objective is like finding a needle in a haystack without them.
