  1. I mean the show had been great so far with tons of palpable anxiety and loss but I just "wound down the day" by watching episode 3.

I didn't expect that and it kind of emotionally blindsided me. I was about to get really upset and find it thoroughly against Bill's character to keep going and end up in the video game events. I'm glad they rewrote it, it was a shockingly great hour of television.

  2. I usually cannot wait to get the fuck through cutscenes, dialog and what not to do what I came to do, play the game. Of course there are exceptions like a Disco Elysium or SOMA or whatever but the vast majority of games I play, I tend to give cutscenes a short grace period and if I get bored I just skip them.

  3. I'll do another thread for this, idgaf!

I've been really into Kate Bush's The Dreaming album. It's utterly bizarre, experimental as hell yet catchy and fun. A lot of these sequencers and drum machines had just come out at the time and make some of their earliest appearances on this album.

I just played Alan Wake for the first time(The remaster).  Eh, I'd say it's my least favorite Remedy game.

I keep almost picking up this remaster because I love the idea and presentation of the game. Then I remember that even when it came out I kept thinking that it feels like they were so in love with creating the world that the gameplay and level design feels like an afterthought.

Also in the Resident Evil remakes, those bosses were not meant to be played on the hardest difficulty. They're broken. (I think this was the case for 3, or maybe 2. I don't remember which one)

I mean I really like RE2R but for example that shipping container boss fight is just bad. You're really fighting your sluggish movement rather than an interesting encounter. I just never find the New RE bosses difficult because of some challenging mechanic, it's always because they feel annoying as shit fighting with that aiming and movement.

I played RE3R once and it was on Hard I think (whatever was the hardest available) and that last boss was so stupid, I almost dropped a, what, 5 hour game?

RE8 just suffered from the same imo. They were cumbersome and obnoxious, not tense. In direct comparison, that game in general feels wimpy compared to this.

Now let's go Capcom and put them in their place with RE4R. I've got high hopes!

  6. Just finished the game on Hard and immediately played another hour on NG+.

Someone at Capcom needs to play this because having just replayed RE8 before this...lulz.

Like I said before, I was way off at first because I wasn't utilizing the weapons and environment to their full extent. Game is 9/10 easy. Maybe 9.5. Definitely in my Top 10 Action games. Horror/Action whatever.

Also contrary to every Resi title shitting the bed later on, this game just keeps getting better as it goes and the boss fights are actually well-designed unlike the clunky shit in every RE game in recent memory.

If this is your first foray into WIllie give his Shotgun Willie album a spin. Its a good mix of his styles from ballads to loud as hell sing alongs.

Devil In A Sleeping Bag might be my favorite of his songs.

I have that one and love it. I have no idea how Ted Headed Stranger escaped me till now. It's such a great album with such vivid imagery.

  8. I've never worked at a place that corporate before and this is utterly insane to read for me. The owner of my company's office is like two doors down from me and we go to the bar together so this type of shit always looks extra dystopian nightmare to me.
