  1. New interview with Max Schaefer goes over the gameplay, pets, and player houseing

This bit on player housing i thought was pretty interesting:

    Quote

That’s right, as we stated before, Torchlight Frontiers has a housing system that Echtra is calling Forts...
"A cool thing we do is take your forts and put them in the world randomly for other players to see. And they can come up to your fort and say ‘He’s got an enchanting vendor, I can use him just like an enchanting vendor in the town, and I will pay a fee to get my item enchanted.’ And if it’s your fort, you get the fee.”

In short, Max wants to make sure that players are “incentivised to make a cool fort with lots of utilities, not just for yourself but for other players too.”

Oh shit! I knew Max Schaefer had left Runic a couple of years ago to start up a new studio.

With Runic only working on Hob, I assumed Torchlight was dead at that point.

Really interesting to see Max now working on Torchlight at a new studio.

Now that I know Max is involved, I'm considerable more hyped.

  3. Rockstar and CDPR are obvious choices.

I'd like to give an honorable mention to: Insomniac
Sunset Overdrive was one of the most fun open world games I've ever played. And Spider-Man looks to be an amazing open world as well.

They are still so fixated on making Linux happen, it's just not going to happen.

I'm glad it exists and I'm glad I know how to use it, but it's not a pleasure to use.

    I agree with this.

I kinda feel like Linux needs a complete usability overhaul.

Make it dead simple for the average joe to use.

If at any point I have to type in a command to do something, it's still not simple enough.
