Are we still up in arms about the logo?

Ascend is such a huge part of my enjoyment of this game. I didn’t like climbing in the first one and this is such a strange way of fixing that. Finding good vertical paths feels so nice.
After like 15-20 hours you shouldn't really ever have to climb again except on a few occasions. There are so many ways to traverse the world.

Difference is when I say things like stepee I get absolutely trashed on.
Nobody asked you for your opinion asshole!
🙃😋
I think how something is worded rubs some people the wrong way but almost everyone here to my knowledge is 30+ years old. Grown ass adults shouldn't be getting upset about video games.

I should add, that if you suck or are too impatient for the sneaky stuff, do something dumb like fusing a long stick to a long stick to give you extra reach for when you go Leroy Jenkins on a bunch of constructs.
Only issue with that is 2 long sticks still do shit damage and will break long before you can kill the captain. Better off gunning it towards one of the more durable objects littered around the map and sticking that on the end of the long stick. I attach all the parts enemies drop to arrows to basically double their damage, that way you can usually make it through without running out of arrows.

That’ll wrap up this one, seems like mid range numbers were the way to go
HE'S STEALING IT!! STOP THE COUNT!
I blame Dominion. Nah but for real congrats and nice of you to do this.

If you fuse a crate to your weapon it's really good at smashing crates, like better than a boulder somehow. And when it eventually breaks it will still drop whatever was inside (usually apples & arrows)

@thedarkstark where is a good place to upgrade armor? I have $2K rubies.
You have to do some quests
Very very minor spoiler:
SpoilerGreat fairy quests: you will be given hints how to unlock them at stables.

I don’t think difficulty works for me the way it does for some other people. When I’m saying something is hard it’s not like I’m going around actively trying to die over and over. I’m saying that I’m trying to move forward and advance the game and I’m dying more often than I want to and that I wish there was an optional mode I could opt into that would make it easier for me to die less.
Upgrading your armor makes the biggest difference in not dying (besides get gud). It's more important than getting heart containers.
Avoid silver and black enemies for now, they are damage sponges early on and they also hit very hard.

The only "powers" you don't have right from the start are a camera and auto-build which are obviously not going to help you.

I’m pretty sure I just wasn’t supposed to go to this one yet. I’m really early on. Im not much past when the four points of interest open up. I made robots with spikes for instance and they would grind at the robots for like a minute before they would pop with two of those grinding at them. I went slow but it was like 10 enemy’s and they had long sticks that would one shit me and could hit me super far away. It just required too much perfection for too long of a period of time at the level I’m at.
You never get "stronger" though, so those will never get easier. The only thing that will change if you come back much later is you might be able to survive 1 hit because you have more hearts but 2 is still likely going to kill you.

Naked combat are definitely the hardest but they're still incredibly easy if you don't rush in guns blazing. You can usually stealth around the outside to get a good handle on the layout of the room and what tools they provide you with. Theres usually a way to immediately kill 1-2 enemies (platform you can knock down, an edge you can push them off).
Theres also going to be a spiked ball or a spike trap somewhere you can fuse to your weapon and drastically increase your damage. Once you kill 1 or 2 fuse whatever material they drop to your arrows to take out the enemies with the longest weapons as they pose the biggest threat.
The captain can fuse weapons just like you can, if you can steal the items near him and fuse them to your weapons first he wont be able to 1-2 shot you.

I'm pretty impressed that I've found & finished 110 shrines without really doing too much searching, just come across them pretty organically. The lightroot thing definitely helped with a few

if it worked well i would buy it
It's an in home only device. Remote play is unusable on a different network unless you're playing a turn-based game. It's essentially a wii u tablet with slightly better range.
Do you still want it? Would you pay $200 for it because there's 0 chance it's going to cost less than that.

My favorite missions are the ones I’ve accidentally completed already before they’re given to me.
Josha wanted me to find a temple underground using the statues as a guide. Whoops, sorry kiddo, already did it and got the Auto-Build.
Question related to this I had played like 50 hours before I got to that part and didnt encounter
SpoilerThe Yiga Clan
before that part and was kind of bummed thinking they wouldn't be in this game. Was it just a coincidence/luck that I never ran into them before that sequence? Because since then I now see them constantly.

Yea YouTube is quick and easy. I used it a few times.
No, never. I haven't used any help at all other than to get an approximate location of where a specific piece of armor was located.
Looking things up defeats the entire purpose of a game like this. If you need to do that then feel free to do so but you'll enjoy the game much more if you figure things out on your own. there are plenty of contextual clues that should tip you off to the solution. Example: the name of the challenge in a shrine is always a major hint at how the puzzle within will be solved.

Why not both?
They're 2 of the best games ever made and very clearly labors of love. So rarely are we blessed with games that aren't rushed out copy/paste jobs littered with horrible microtransactions and bugs so bad even the Orkin Man would run away weeping.
No sense in debating which is better, just enjoy these prosperous times because I feel like it's going to be a very very long time before we see another title that matches the quality of these epics. I'm hopeful FFXVI will be in the same ballpark but the bar is now set incredibly high.

I'll buy one when it's on clearance for $40 next year like the Vita TV.

As usual Sony is fucking clueless when it comes to the handheld gaming space.
Nobody is going to buy this thing: everyone who cares enough to remote play their PS5 already has a smartphone and a backbone. Everyone else wants a stand-alone device like the switch or the steam deck that can be played anywhere and not only on your home network. You can technically "play" over wifi, but if it's not a turn based game you're going to have a bad time.
Even at $100 this thing would not fly off the shelves, but because it's Sony they're going to price it at $250-300, and you're going to have to buy their proprietary modem/router to use it.

Forget MGS4 the next collection should be Metal Gear Acid. Let's go!
IDK if this is sarcasm or not but I actually really liked the Acid games, especially 2. They were pretty flawed but lots of fun.

My favorite part of the crafting is that it's clear that some thought really went into how the combined items would look. You can make some really rad looking swords, spears, etc. Then you can also slap something like a Silver Moblin Tail or whatever onto a pole and it hits like a ton of bricks because of the damage buff, but it looks like absolute ass. Or just put a halberd on a halberd. My favorite useless weapon thus far is slapping a lattice onto a club and making a gigantic fly swatter, which nobody in cutscenes acknowledges despite the fact that it MUST be the stupidest thing they've ever seen.
Meanwhile a lot of characters WILL react to you if you walk near / talk to them while naked.
Game of the generation.
You think that's attention to detail? Check this shit out:
The amount of TLC that went into this game is mind blowing.

You dont really need more hearts for dungeons, there arent many enemies in them. The mini-bosses strewn about the world hit harder and present more of a challenge. Dungeon bosses just have cool/unique mechanics in how to defeat them.

At least it had an ending unlike V.It had an ending... it was just in movie format and came on a separate disc that was only in the special edition
For real though fuck Konami for rushing it out & then ousting Kojima. The planned ending was actually pretty cool.
