    Chapter 9 is awesome.

From 9 to where I am now (chapter 11) the story is really starting to hit its stride. The game is so big, with so much to do, so the story feels very spread out if you’re doing everything, but with all the great character moments a lot of the side stuff brings, you’re never short on interesting moments.

like, theres a Chapter 10 world intel quest that focuses on Avalanche that was really fun and sweet.

Cosmo Canyon is really great too. The Bugenhagan scene is incredible this time around.

9 is definitely the longest chapter so far, it covers two huge areas.

I can’t do two games at the same time because I start mixing up the controls. Playing Spider-Man 2 and Tears of the Kingdom at the same time led to me trying to web swing in TOTK and Link falling to his death.

I just can’t focus on two games at once, except maybe a puzzle game on the side, like tetris effect.

I love Helldivers, but I haven’t touched it since rebirth. I’ll get back to it once im done. At least until Dragon’s Dogma 2.

While I loved Remake, this is absolutely everything on a much larger scale. I suspect one of the reasons they split this game into parts is because they had to figure out how they wanted to remake it all, and by putting it into parts they could better pace themselves and build on foundations.

It sounds like that will *still* be the case to some extent with part 3 building on part 2, since the developers have commented on how one of the big things they have to figure out in part 3 is how to properly integrate the airship into the overworld they've built up in part 2. But because the game was split, they didn't have to solve that challenge for part 2.

I hope when all is said and done, these same lessons learned can be applied to future FF games. I really dig how they managed a real-time combat system that still encourages use of your party and strategic ability choices.

Imo, this is the best combat in any RPG.

This is truly everything I’ve always wanted Final Fantasy to be. A serious story with fun an interesting character moments, a huge dose of goofy Japanese goodness, stupid, edgy style, and more Tifa.

I’m dreading getting to the final chapters and having this end for another 4 years or more, but I truly couldn’t be more in love with what I’ve gotten so far.

The key to getting me to do weird open world checklist stuff? Paint it in FF7, give a heavy dose of FF7 Lore, and two annoying and thirsy AI’s.

I'm in Coral prison (chapter8). I had to play a few games at the Golden saucer to get things moving but it was fun.

    Now I'm kinda stuck

Don't know where I get greens to feed the Chocobo so I can race.

You get them all in the prison. You have to do 3 quests. One is from the bartender where you have to go to his “garden” and then chase an enemy and beat it for it. One is a guessing game based on info around the town, the last is 3 games of queensblood in a quest you get from an old man.

I don't care if he's 13, he never ever speaks up and says what's on his mind. It's extremely lame at a writing perspective.

"Uh, um, eh".... thanks cloud! Tifa constantly asks him questions or he gets those weird memories of Sephiroth and he says absolutely nothing!

You clearly don’t understand the character or why he’s like that.

I’ll talk about other spoilers after everyone is finished, if we get that far in the story, but there is fundamental reasons he’s so closed off. Mentally he’s a mess.

lol. Barret is awesome though, and I like how much their friendship evolved from the start of Remake.

My Cloud is definitely not brushing off Tifa :p But he is like a teenager badly hiding how hot he is for her.

    He effectively is a teenager
    og spoilers

    Spoiler

He was 16 when Nibelheim was destroyed and he was put in the mako tank. He came out at 21. Mentally he is a 16 year old, even though he’s 21.

it’s rarely talked about that Cloud is a child soldier. He joined the Shinra Military at 14.

That's main story line in FF7 OG not a side quest. Maybe they made it a side quest in the remakes which is odd but nah, not a side quest originally. Maybe peeps should save up some money and pay attention (not directed at you Biggie)

Oh no, it’s main story in remake. Pretty much all of FF7 OG Midgar happens. Only thing I can think of that doesn’t is them getting imprisoned in Shinra tower before Sephiroth’s attack.

Just don't tell any of the passionate sides that it wasn't clear. They each think it was incredibly clear for their side :p

I do agree with you though: they were wrong and it was deliberately left open to interpretation in the OG. I would even say that it's open in Remake. But in Rebirth, I feel like there is no room for interpretation. There are so many signs that Tifa is the canonical love interest.  It even seems like Aerith knows that and mostly likes to tease Cloud.

Yes, absolutely. It’s not even questionable. And personally I think it’s the better choice narratively.

Yep. I feel that is a fair reason for me to not play it. Outside of base ff7 and AC, I have consumed zero FF7 media.

I mean, sure except you’re missing the best FF experience in decades. This game is Final Fantasy 7 at its core, but in a new and extremely exciting away.

honestly, I loved Remake, it was special to me, but this game goes well beyond that. Every corner has something I find exciting. So far only one area has felt frustrating to me, and that’s just because the area is a jungle with multiple levels, and a mechanic for reaching those levels that makes direction hard. But after I got the hang of it I found it quite a bit easier.

the place I’m in now is incredible.
