How do we flip Texas blue?
CastletonSnob replied to CastletonSnob's topic in The Political Re-Education Camp
I mean, I'm not saying that Texas turning blue is just around the corner. I'm just saying that the trends favor Democrats. -
How do we flip Texas blue?

Texas's suburbs are getting bluer. Collin County, a suburb of Dallas, went from going 19.5 points to Abbott in 2018 to only 10.1 points in 2022, a 9.4 point decrease. Abbott won Fort Bend County, a suburb of Houston, by .2 points in 2018. Beto won Fort Bend County by 4.7 points in 2022. Hays County, a suburb of Austin, went to Valdez by 2 points in 2018. It went to Beto by 10.8 points in 2022. The idea that Texas isn't trending blue is frankly, ludicrous. -

Why have Louisiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Alabama been able to elect a Democrat to statewide office, while Texas hasn't? Texas is nowhere near as red as those states. -

The Texas State Constitution is written in a way where the Lt. Governor is the one with the real power. Even flipping a couple of state legislative seats would go a long way toward flipping the state. -

I've heard people say to wait until the 2030s or 2040s. Between climate change and Republicans going all-in on fascism, we might not have that long to wait. Reminder that Texas is nowhere near as red as Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, North Dakota, Kentucky, or West Virginia, which have all elected a Democrat to statewide office. -

Not everyone in Texas is a MAGA Republican. 3.5 MILLION Texans voted for Beto. That's more than the combined population of Wyoming, Montana and North and South Dakota. -

The Texas Democratic Party is, frankly, fucking incompetent. They're the Detroit Lions of political parties. The Absence Of The Texas Democratic Party WWW.LONESTARLEFT.COM It's time for some brutal honesty and tough love. It's Time We Talk About The Texas Democratic Party WWW.LONESTARLEFT.COM The 2020 election was a failure for Texas Democratic Party, the 2022 election was even worse.
