I got in and out on a tiny GME position earlier today just so I could say I made money on this whole endeavor
SpoilerNaw, glad to see people win.

Done (that was fairly easy). Thank you all.
Mods, if you want to obliterate this thread, by all means; if interested in finding out what happens, keep and I'll update.

Unless for some reason the company would otherwise be legally required to honor your two-week’s notice and let you work the entire thing, I don’t understand why’d they would lay you off. For the very reason that laying you off qualifies you for collecting unemployment.
Maybe it’s a state labor issue. In Texas the company could just accept your notice, but opt to release you before your two weeks and you wouldn’t qualify, because you technically left voluntarily.
Yeah, that is what I was initially thinking; and having only work for one company as an adult this is all new, was going to leave it alone. But like I said, taking them five days, them five days are a lot of money, I just can't leave it all on the table without trying.

AMC mentioned they might.

I'm in Ohio, filing now. Thank you all.
I wasn't going to even look into as I was getting 31 days vacation paid out. But then they contacted me and said the have a new policy on the new carry over vacation policy, where the five days I carried over wont count, so I'm only getting paid for 26.

Didn't know where to ask this, and none of my friends could help, so I'm turning to you all. lol (mod, move is this is the wrong place)
So I put my two weeks in at work (after 17 years) after being poached by a competitor. After my former employer made an unofficial attempt to keep me (could match the 33% base increase, but couldn't match the 20% bonus, nor the monthly car stipend (reserved for C suite)), I decided to part ways. So they end up laying me off that day (because its competitor), not "honoring" my two weeks.
To me that seems like I can use the unemployment feature + the $300 for these 16 days I'm out of work. Am I wrong?

Bought more at $333, in to the end at this point, what's a few thousand dollars.
Yes, Wall Street is getting richer on the trades, but that's not the point.

I don't believe you can actually. I looked for dogecoin in Schwab but I couldn't find it anywhere.
I guess my point was, even if I wanted to put some money on dogecoin, I'm out of funtime money to do so.
Ah thanks. I'm over here looking on the site like I Elmer looking for Bugs.
What do you all use for Crypto? I use Sofi (buy IPOE if that is going to happen) for my bitcoin position, DOGE can only be watched.

I don't have any play money left in my brokerage account at Schwab, and I'm afraid my wife may kill me if I transfer any money from our bank account to literally fucking gamble with it on shit like dogecoin.
Wait, you can trade cryptos in a Schwab brokerage account? Never knew that, but I don't trade with my Schwab, I just use it for that sweet 4% interest I was grandfathered into for jumping in on them early.

Completely unrelated to our quick lottery investments, but what do the regular traders in this thread think about CCIV? My buddy is telling me anything I earn on AMC should go into it, however, it’s a long termer, not a short.
I like CCIV as a spec, if its really does merge with EvGo, its a winner.
Wait until after the merger, SPACs tend to go down a bit.
Just my hobbiest ideas.

I just put sell orders in for all my tech stocks
Lol, that was silly.
Looking back, I'm glad I followed my non-investor advice from this thread and double down on my position(s) during the Covid Slam. Portfolio tripled in 2020 (currently unrealized gains).

From what I've read the epic short squeeze is coming either Friday (tomorrow) or Monday.
Friday is possible if people hold, Monday would be more likely because if they cover the shorts on Friday, those transactions will take some time to do through. However, they could just hold their shorts and continue to play chicken.
Or, we could see the Government, the Media, and the Financial market repeat the largest crime I've seen my 3+ decades on the earth; to F the people.

I got my wife a Tesla Model Y for Christmas and am now alllll aboard the EV train. As soon as Ram has an electric 1500, I’m buying.
Wife got a Model 3 in September, I preorder for the Cyber Truck. Thinking about selling my X5 and getting another Model 3 (maybe the Model S, but the 3 has the best look). If I could see a Mach - E, its possible I would wait and get that.
We'll be full EV by the summer (except for the LR3, wife kept it, I use it as work vehicle). Looking into solar panels.

NOK or AMC?
NOK, long term the business is not priced too far off.
AMC is about to sell more shares, shorts can cover, and that price will go down.
Also, GME, holding until Friday does "nothing", need to hold until the shorts are down to pulling their briefs off and throwing them on the table. If you see what happened Wednesday tomorrow, hold, and buy whatever is down (always have money on the side). I'm holding GME and doing $10K stop losses, if there is no inventory to sale, those will sell. Also try buy in again in the morning, tried to do a $325 open limit order, but for the first time ever I was notified that I can't because the last list price is more that 50% away from my limit order price.
Also, this is not investment advice, its just my hobbiest ideas. Plus I've been playing with house money since 2007 (took out a $10K student loan to buy Nintendo at $11+ share, and sold for $70); so I'm rolling, and winning with their dice.

What do you think it more likely? Trump lied and ended up being proven right, or people at Pfizer decided to let him know the preliminary results of a clinical trial, perhaps before any statistical analysis had even happened?
There’s zero reason to take Trump at his word on shit like this.
Zero is pretty strong.
"I'm going to cut taxes." - happened
"I'm going to cut regulations." - happened
"I'm going to work for veterans." - happened
"I'm going to work to reduce drug prices." - happened
"I'm going to fight China on trade." - happened
"I'm against going to war." - happened
"I'm going to get out and redo NAFTA." - happened
"I'm going to get out the Paris Climate Accords." - happened
"I'm going to work for the black community." - happened
I can go on and on; so like I said zero is pretty strong, especially if you live in actuals.

Except for you know, what actual happened.

The Federal government has very little power to force states to enforce federal law. It's the whole separation of powers thing.
Its surprising how many people ignore that this is a thing. Wait, its not surprising at all; this is the USA after all.
