QuoteSen. Marco Rubio plans to introduce a bill today that would allow new parents to finance their paid leave by drawing from their Social Security benefits early.
The Florida Republican's bill -- Economic Security for New Parents Act -- would allow parents to use their future Social Security benefits to use for at least two months leave, which would then delay receiving their retirement benefits by three to six months when they retire.
According to a summary from Rubio's office, the bill will allow the benefits to be transferable between parents and eligible for stay-at-home parents.I actually like this idea. Plus it would hopefully make young parents think twice about having more than a few kids, as it would delay their eventual social security checks by a year or more.

He's turned into such a lapdog for Trump, it makes me sad.

Seriously, I’m upset that Fox News wasn’t included in the Disney deal because I would have loved seeing Hannity and his ilk getting the axe by the Mouse.
Disney should have just bought out the name Fox News so the network would have had to change their name. It would really confuse old people for years because they'd see that their beloved channel is gone.

How much political sway does the Catholic church have in the US? My impression (which may be wrong) was that the protestants had more political power here.
Look at it this way: Out of 45 presidents throughout it's history, America has had one Catholic commander-in-chief.

I would be so if Hannity is somehow implicated and indicted in the Russia investigation or the Cohen investigation.
I'd be like i i i

"And Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further."
I know he is quoting Dershowitz here, but he's basically saying he is going to fire Mueller, isn't he? Might as well add this tweet onto the pile of of OoJ evidence.

Dental insurance is waaaaay less expensive than medical insurance. I think I pay around $15 a month total for dental and vision for my family, which includes 2 teeth cleanings and exams for each person, annual eye exams, and 2 pairs of glasses each year. Yeah there are limits and copays (my filling cost me $60 I think) but it's definitely a lot less expensive compared to my health insurance, which stands at several hundred dollars each paycheck plus what my employer kicks in.

Clinton was never impeached. Although I think she should be impeached for the emails and Benghazi.
...Clinton was impeached by the house. He was later acquitted by the Senate though, so he remained president.

What about companies that are providing bare bones health insurance plans? Why should they be taxed less than a company that gives employees a very nice health insurance plan plus pay 50% of dependent coverage? If you're going to do some sort of formula, I would just make it the same per employee for any employers above 150 employees. Smaller companies should get some sort of break.
For simplicity, it would be easier just to throw it on the payroll tax and having reasonable copays and deductibles. I agree that medicaid and chip should be eliminated. I'm not sure about the VA. I also wouldn't care if public hospitals and clinics existed along side private ones if it helped control costs. We pay far too much for healthcare in America and it isn't all just administrative. We pay more for the same thing.
Yeah, I guess I wasn't clear. What I was trying to say is that all companies should pay the same amount in taxes based on what the average employer pays right now for employee insurance premiums. So whether a company right now is offering a plan (such as a big tech company) or not (such as Burger King) they would see a $300 (or whatever) per month Medicare tax per employee.

There are a lot of factors involved here, and some (or a lot) of the blame rests with local and state government action/inaction in regards to housing prices.

Did I miss something? I thought all that happened with the 3D printed gun thing was that the guys that made it are allowed to post the plans for the guns, not print and sell them.
Correct. Current law allows you to manufacture your own guns, whether that means using 3d printers or hacksaws. What you are not allowed to do is resell the guns you make without being a licensed gun dealer.

The thing I love the most about how Trump and his stooges talk about the crimes Hillary committed, his DoJ has failed to charge her with any crimes or even restart investigations. Even Congress is sitting on their asses in regards to Shillary.

One my coworkers is getting transferred down to Sunnyvale from Oregon next year, and he is strongly considering either "super commuting" from Utah every week, and staying a camper/trailer during the work week. That's just crazy.

The deficit in this case would be more than the typical increase in deficit.
Assuming a land value tax was taken off the table, we could pay for this with:
1) Lift the payroll tax cap to make it more progressive and raise revenue
2) Increase payroll taxes by increasing the %
3) Adding a VAT
Companies could be taxed based on a calculation of how much companies are currently spending on giving their employers private insurance. Say that on average across the nation, companies have chipped in $3000 per year per employee for heath insurance, then this should be the basis for the new Medicare tax. Individuals would still have to fund the system as well, whether that is through a payroll tax increase, income tax increase, or through premiums and copays, I'm not sure.
BUT if we go down this route, all other federal (and most state) healthcare agencies and programs need to be ended. This includes VA healthcare, medicaid, CHIP, and others. Hospitals, clinics, and doctors offices should remain privately run and administered. Only the payments should be centralized.

Kind of like laws against murder. I've always advocating eliminating them.
Laws against murder, much like laws against XYZ are more for punishing the offender than they are for prevention of the crime in the first place in my opinion.

I'm sure no one will sell any 3D printed guns. Everyone who makes them are angels.
But what's your point? "Angels" aren't adhering to the laws on buying and selling guns right now concerning non-homemade firearms. It's simply another law that the law abiding follow, and the criminals don't.

The plans should be available freely to anyone, but if you are selling an actual weapon you should need an FFL as with any other retail gun.
That's the way it works right now. You can make your own gun, whether that means 3-d printing it, milling it out on a CNC machine, or building it out of Home Depot parts for $20, but you cannot go and sell it once it has been built. You cannot sell it after you make it.

Or gun manufacturers.
That's not necessarily true. A 3-d printed AR-15 lower receiver will still need to be finished off with several hundred (or more) dollars worth of stuff like the barrel, upper receiver, bolt, trigger group, etc.

Has anyone actually, definitively provided an answer as to whether "collusion" (as opposed to "conspiracy") is a crime?
It's just semantics, is it not? It's like saying "drinking and driving" is not a crime, therefor my client isn't guilty of it. But it is possible he is guilty of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

It's paid for with your social security earnings. So you're paying yourself, I suppose.
