They left their land in 1948 and generations later are still in those same refugee camps, it's a core part of their identity. I know a Palestinian (Israeli Arab) who's not far from the Lebanon border and asked if they were going to evacuate: "We are not leaving our land".

Which was the fundamental question that created mass Jewish migration to the Mandate in the first place, where the f were the Jews supposed to go? Yeah, they colonized an area they have a mythological connections with as a means of securing themselves against a European history of slaughter at the expense of the local population. Preventing that colonization required Europe to not commit the Holocaust and convince the Jews that the centuries of Jewish slaughter was over. 

We keep living in this fantasy that a 2 State Solution is possible, come up with a way to unfuck this map, then come up with a way to convince Israel to implement that plan against their belief it'll create basically mega Gaza.

How to cost effectively deal with them is going to be a major adjustment for modern militaries. The IDF just finished upgrading their active Armored Brigades with the Active Protective System after Hezbollah anti tank missiles mauled IDF armor in 2006.
