I can't imagine the brass balls you need to sit in an air defense battery while being actively targeted. Nerves of steel.
US Army has a problem with electronic signature beyond just air defense.

Opinion: Medicaid work requirements are a terrible idea | CNN
WWW.CNN.COMHouse Republicans voted last month to rip away health coverage from hundreds of thousands of people when they voted to impose work requirements as a condition of eligibility for Medicaid, writes disability advocate Mia Ives-Rublee. She says that if the measure – which is part of the roiling national debt ceiling debate – becomes law, an estimated 600,000 people would lose coverage. One of the brain dead things the GOP is demanding. It's so bad it's actually a work disincentive for people like me since simply getting a doctor to say I can't work is way easier than whatever half baked reporting system they implement. It also massively incentivizes fucking Guardianship to get the parental caregiver exception, Guardianship is something the disability community has been trying to scale back (public schools have a bad track record pushing Guardianship on transitioning disabled youth). NC is about to put it into law that Judges have to prove alternatives don't work before granting Guardianship.

Social Security advocates brace for U.S. debt default with payments to beneficiaries at stake
WWW.GOOGLE.COMSocial Security recipients could face interruptions in their payments, and need to be prepared, one expert said, but many have little flexibility to stave off financial crisis by themselves.Given how much of state and local government is funded by the feds, I don't think people fully appreciate how bad it could get.

Perhaps you can show me where I am saying such?
Guy should’ve been in an institution of some kind, penal or inpatient, but wasn’t. Society doesn’t care about this community until a story like this occurs then it matters. Hence the more complex part, but yes let’s only focus on the outcome of a systemic failure that is worsening by the day.
This guy is more likely to become Rittenhouse 2.0 than convicted. Convicted or not the left's level of energy to fix the systemic problems will be near zero.

Those staffer salaries are way low for them to be pulling this shit.
Time on their resume, plus which congressional office is going to hire them in the middle of the term?

and states should just ignore it
They can't, if someone sells an AR-15 in NY, gets arrested, federal courts will throw out the case. Enforcement of the ruling doesn't require the federal government to do anything.

As an Anglo, I use the term "Latin" as that seems an appropriate "catch all" for every contingency.
Not barbarian?

As usual, our outrage is aimed at the wrong target. We should embrace the new terms if they make sense and move on. Getting outraged to be asked to use new terms to accommodate marginalized groups is a far weirder thing to me.
The term has to originate from and be accepted by that community before it should be used by anyone else. I've mentioned this before but years ago people, probably started with a few disabled people but was spread by non disabled progressives (who broadly have a real ableist problem imo), tried to push Differently Abled on us. The disability community VERY firmly and loudly came out against it because we knew progressives would start using it, and as a result harm an identity we've been building for decades. Until a community itself starts using a term broadly, white progressives using it and willing it into the culture has an imperialist vibe to it.

The biggest state has two senators, and it’s time for democrats to demand she resign. This is their fault. Even worse is this “ageism” bs. Nobody wants her gone because she is old, they want her gone because she has dementia.
Even disability rights people are saying she's gotta go.

I recently moved to a large city and had lunch today at a popular outdoor spot with a lot of people, I couldn't help but think this great and fun place, wasn't safe. I know the odds are tiny, but it's something that was just there in my mind.

So the only thing I'm remotely curious about is why it's going to be Queen Camilla but it was Prince Philip.
Phillip wasn't a prince at first, he only got that years later. He had to denounce all his Greek titles before getting married.

I haven't seen anyone in the media say it was more dangerous than other rifles and that's certainly not what I was saying here. I was explaining why it was so deadly and why it was so concerning compared to handguns. That's it. Bottom line is it doesn't belong in the hands of untrained civilians.
The left needs to remember the shit show that was the 90s assault weapon ban, it just created a market for loopholes that were objectively stupid. Stupid gun laws fuel the NRA and the right. The legal difference between an AR-15, AR-15 pistol, and an AR-15 SBR is literally just barrel length and if it has a stock or not. Exact same gun, 3 very different regulator standards. In my opinion the left should just focus on making magazines over X capability an NFA item like suppressors, SBRs, and full autos. That's it, keep it simple. Don't get into the weeds of this or that gun.
There are a ton of stupid gun laws on the books that could be traded away in exchange for NFAing magazines over X, assuming you can make that kind of a deal with the GOP.
