  1. Most likely this is just stuff from Nvidia as I believe they helped build most of the SDK. A lot of companies were trying to use the K1 & X1 chipsets in VR headsets.

Also if Nintendo was seriously considering a vr headset for the switch, they probably would follow LG with a headset that plugs into the device via USB-C. It makes far more sense then the switch docking into a GearVR like device.

  2. I sadly have to agree. The art design is kind of nice but I see some parts in the visual style that give a repetitive generic feel. I also find the mechanics to be pretty bland/bare bones which will get dull after some time.

So sadly this will be forgotten for another pretty looking indie game in about a month.

I know a game is not easy to make, I still do this on the side as a hobby along with my regular work but there are just way too much out there in the indie scene and screenshot visuals only go so far.

  3. My take over all....

Nez/Nes/N E S, everybody called it something different and really it doesn't matter.

Heck if you had parents they'd call everything Nintendo even the Genesis. :p

My parents did this a lot even well into the n64 era. 3 Generations of buying consoles and still couldn't figured it out. We even had a 2600 so it's not like the NES was our first video game system. lol

Does playing these in order matter?

Not really since they all start with a bunch of cut-scenes to get you caught up on the story plots relevant to the latest game. Sure it doesn't cover every aspect and it's well worth going back to play the older games but you won't be totally lost if you jumped in on the latest. Plus with this technically being a prequel it ends up fill in the series lore and backstory.

I still use my 2009 MacBook Pro as my primary computer. My 2011 iMac’s graphics card just bit the dust.

I've contemplated getting maybe a Surface for work (graphic and game design).

My personal laptop is a surf pro 4 (i7) and I love it, my wife kept trying to hog it so we got her a pro i5 last Xmas and she loves it. I use both an iPad Air and pro at work and I still vastly prefer my surf pro. If I could i’d Get work to buy me a surf laptop.

Consider hitting up an MS store in a mall to play around with one for a while.

Is Canada's system paid for with taxes or via your employer?

Taxes, you go on EI (same if you were off work due to short term disability) but it only pays a portion of your salary but some companies offer a top off for mat leave for x many weeks. Some companies will also offer paid time off for men but it’s usually only a few weeks.

  7. No photos atm but I picked up a copy of Jurassic Park for gamegear yesterday. It was only $10 cad so I thought why not. I also traded my taz on genesis to my coworker who gave me rockman 4 (fc) in exchange. I also picked up Kirby planet robobot but that isn’t really retro :P (damn game is hard to find up here locally)

Thanks. I won it on a triva question. The Question was name a Star Wars game published my Sega? Answer StarWars Arcade for 32X.

Shame that game wasn’t the prize :P

  8. I for the life of me still can’t figure out how they can make a game more stream efficient then current setups.

Best ideas I can come up with is akin to vr timewarp where the hw tries to make a guest adjustment to what I thinks differs from the completed frame. Or some bastardized version of deferred rendering where the device gpu only focuses on the final composition and from that has enough info to fill in missing data for the time delta (yet this would take more bandwidth to send then a normal frame)

I just can’t wrap my head around how you can make a part of the cpu or gpu stack cheaper but still get something better then current streaming tech.

  9. I got in 10min of art of fighting 2 this morning. I sucked at it but still had some fun.

i also played some Kirby battle royal and Shinobi 3ds last night. Kirby is fun in small doses, shinobi I don’t think is as good as ppl make it out to be. -.-

  10. It will take a month before I get it but I was able to snag art of fighting 1 aes for a decent price ($40 cad before shipping, probably cost me all in $60 cad for it).

Its kind of silly but I really wanted to get AoF 1 in my collection and i’m also on the hunt to get fatal fury 1 and world heroes 1 as well (providing it’s a good deal). Sadly those two tend to peak in the 6k-7k yen range (so does AoF, I just got lucky)

It sure as shit wasn’t me. Maybe @chakoo? Haha.

Umm. WTF?!?!? I'd say my gets are average price wise, i've only had a small handful of good scores and those are rare. -.-

on that note, I did actually score a copy of Hello Kitty kruisers (WiiU) off amazon.ca for $20 =P (while the price did crash to $60-$80, it at one time was fetching $300). Someone on resetera posted and I made an order expecting it to be canceled but the damn thing shipped and got delivered today.
