Not sure if the bit about a lower risk of outdoor transmission holds up when you're literally surrounded by people breathing out aerosols

So is it possible that he actually does have nothing except mild cold symptoms and is just being a complete hypochondriac about it?
(Maybe not with that Acosta tweet. Who knows! There's no possible statement the White House could put out that would be believable because no one even tangentially connected to the administration has any credibility.)

This debate might end up turning into a study on COVID transmission

Wow, we finally found a Trump scandal that merits the same level of coverage as "Hillary had some sus e-mail security practices"?

A lot of people look at the lack of any policy action after Parkland as the point where we just kinda gave up as a society. I think the speed at which we collectively decided to accept that there was no way to discern any clear motive for the worst mass shooting ever and just kind of move on and no longer discuss it is about on the same level.

Remember all those op-eds that there like, "I know Brett Kavanaugh personally and he's a nice guy who coaches girl's basketball in his spare time" published right before his hearing where he just screamed about the Clintons and beer the whole time. Same shit different day. Just absolutely painful that newspapers continue to publish this shit.

The past few years we've just been having both of our sets of parents over at our place. Just six people, no other extended family. So we might be comfortable doing that. It's gonna depend on what the case numbers look like a month from now, I think. The trajectory the last few days is not encouraging.

Too many people I know will either use Messenger or the events page as the primary way to organize something for me to complete deactivate my account. But I'm trying to make a point to just log in once a day and check my notifications for only those things, so hopefully I'm at least affecting my numbers for how much I'm a "highly engaged user" or whatever.

Some instructive replies here if you click through. Everyone with some version of a Back the Blue avatar or a Punisher avatar or whatever is 100% on the side of the cops and not the reporters despite the fact that they're reporters for a right-leaning website.

I mean, it's not actually unthinkable though because the current president just said it

You may recall this tweet going viral during an argument about gun control
Well,
QuoteAUSTIN (KXAN) — There’s a ticking time bomb when it comes to wild hogs — and the billions in damage they cause.
There are about nine million feral hogs in the U.S. And those numbers are ballooning and increasing the estimated $2.5 billion in damage they already cost in the U.S. each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture says.
That’s according to Dale Nolte, manager of the National Feral Swine Damage Management Program at the Department of Agriculture, who tells The Atlantic that the increasing numbers of feral hogs in the U.S. is sometimes referred to as a “ferral swine bomb.”
He says because they can reproduce so quickly, it’s very difficult to control the problem.
“To go from a thousand to two thousand, it’s not a big deal,” Nolte told The Atlantic. “But if you’ve got a million, it doesn’t take long to get to four [million], then eight million.”
Nolte says some feral hogs — domestic breeds and European wild boar — have cross-bred and become “what we’d call super-pigs.”
Hog wild: U.S. has ‘out of control’ population of ‘super-pigs,’ expert says
WWW.WSAV.COMSuper-pigs are also able to grow very big — about 75 to 250 pounds on average, the Department of Agriculture says. But they can be twice that size and reach up to three feet in height. -
Supposedly the best time to get one to have a good shot at immunity lasting for the duration of the season is right around end of September/start of October, so probably gonna get one next weekend

The "bright side" is literally the nullification of SCOTUS decisions in Blue states which will inexorably lead to secession/dissolution.
When I was in Barnes & Noble today, the Current Affairs section for new releases featured about three new books whose topic is American secessonist movements of the past and today. Make no mistake: this is very much a prevalent idea within the realm of political thought.
If you wanted to find a pretext to start doing nullification stuff, you could point to any of Trump's recent quotes that make clear that he doesn't consider anything that happens in a blue state to be the president's responsibility to do something about.

The massive uptick in donations certainly is encouraging. Let's hope it lasts.
My only gripe is that it seems like a lot of people are trying to drum up money specifically for the McGrath race and not the races that are actually winnable

Apparently Trump's claiming that Oracle's agreed to pay $5 billion into some sort of education fund to pay for the Teach That Slavery Was Good Actually program or whatever that he announced last week. Guessing that this is one of those things that he just kind of invented on the spot and won't actually materialize, but who knows.
