DC Leaders Knew About The Threat Of Right-Wing Violence Ahead Of The Capitol Riot. But They Were More Worried About Trump. WWW.BUZZFEEDNEWS.COM Concerned the president might invoke the Insurrection Act to commandeer the city police, DC council members never expected an assault on the Capitol itself. DC statehood needs to happen, and for reasons that don't have anything to do with the balance of power in the Senate

Jesus... Because I'm on Twitter and read about this stuff there, and post on this board, I feel like was more aware of the Q stuff than most of the country, but seeing what we've seen the last few says, I feel like even I've been in denial about how big it's gotten. It's everywhere. I don't know what to do about it. Hopefully with the coordinated tech crackdown it's like shutting a gas leak off and enough people get their heads out of the fog, but you know the biggest posters in this movement are gonna find a way to keep posting.

I see a lot of leftists on Twitter basically already accepting it as fate that this is going to be an exact repeat of 2008-2010, and that a GOP resurgence is inevitable. And when you look at how much gerrymandering and population distribution favors Republicans, and how tenuous the congressional majorities are, it's easy to feel that way. But the fact that Biden was up at the podium yesterday saying, correctly, that because interest rates on debt are so low that they can continue to deficit spend to address the crisis is seemingly a signal that at there are at least some voices around Biden who are determined not to repeat Obama's first term. I think the single biggest thing is just finding a way to get the vaccine rollout stepped up. If people's social lives start feeling more normal again, I think that's a huge psychological effect that could overcome what might still be weak economic numbers that would usually be bad for incumbents. There's another part of me, though, that looks at the stock market every once in a while and sees that seemingly every day Tesla stock is up like 5% again for seemingly no reason whatsoever, and thinks that a 2008-ish bubble bursting is absolutely inevitable, and that Biden's gonna get 100% blamed for it. -
The fact that a lot of the people in the capital were age 50+ is one thing that's keeping me from being completely despondent about the future. I think that generation was completely brain-poisoned by decades of right-wing propaganda, and that at, in spite of all the awful shit there is online, young people by and large haven't been dosed with it in the same way.
