Finished the Spider quest where you loot four lost sectors. Reward is powerful gear. A chest that was a whopping 1 LL higher. Gee thanks!

You probably have a weapon/gear that's around 10 LL lower than your most current overall LL.

I just read on reddit that you can farm blues that should drop a few levels above. Just load into the Hallowed Lair NF, it starts you off in a public area, go to the closest lost sector and complete it. Rinse and repeat until you get that weapon/gear that's the lowest up to your current overall LL.

  2. Here is a good tip if true, people seemed to have figured out that some weekly powerful activities give smaller LL bump drops and some give higher LL bump drops. So it's good to follow a certain order for these activities to maximize LL. So the recommended order of weekly powerful activities is: Prime Engram, Weekly Heroic Story, Weekly Crucible, Weekly Strikes, Weekly Gambit, Flashpoint, Spider Wanted Bounty, Clan XP, Nightfall, Petra Bounties, Ascendant Challenge, 100K Nightfall.

The well is either dry or it's Bungie matchmaking, every time I went in there it was empty save for maybe one other person. I guess I'll have to try the crouch walk method. But there's other stuff in the dreaming city that seems to require being higher power or needing friends: all that secret stuff. Petra's bounties require a lot work to get potions to see hidden paths to fight really powerful enemies. Ah, the whole place is a mystery and with only one landing zone it could take YEARS to travel all over the damn place.

Yeah definitely use the crouching method, it will work.

  4. @HardAct Just to add to what Mo said about powerful rewards, these include the weekly "milestones" which I believe they are now referring to weekly challenges, those could be done within 2-3 hours. Everyday you get a "prime attunement" buff that will grant you a powerful drop on the first yellow boss you beat (go to a lost sector and within 5 mins your done) Doing these things should get you a good 10-20 LL every week. This is without doing any bounties that drop powerful engrams, so it's not bad if you are a casual and only play for 1 hour.

The Dreaming City is neat as end-game material and all but it seems to be mainly geared towards full fireteams. I hope Bungie adjusts it to be more solo friendly.

How so? The only thing new that the dreaming city has over other planets is the blind well and that has matchmaking as you walk into it, similar to Court of Oryx. The one thing I noticed is that there seems to be less people around for public events but I am sure after 1 week of game release not everyone has reached the dreaming city. Other than that most of the population that has unlocked the dreaming city is under-leveled to do PE, Lost sectors and some of Petra bounties. Give it 2-3 weeks and people will be soloing these events.

Totally. It's overwhelming. Have you started the broadsword quest yet? I'm like 20% on the pulse rifle kills, so I looked up the rest of the steps, and oh my God I forgot how long they made this quest. It's like a year's worth of grinding lol

Nope, haven't even touched competitive. I was actually thinking about broadsword, gambit drops, luna's howl quest etc... you need so much grind for all of them to check off everything.....where the heck am I going to find the time for all this?? What sucks is that we need to get some items before the season is over, i know some are going to have double XP weekends but it's a grind for sure... I'm not complaining but I think for regular folks like us we will need to buckle up and do it or face the fact that we are not going to get some gear/weapons.

    Loot Cave 2.0

      Reveal hidden contents

I'm going to assume prime attunement is automatically given each day until you pick up that engram?

Also first time in a while that I can say that there are so many things to figure out that I am literary lost sometimes, having less time to play also sucks.. lol

    Thanks

But. . . What else is Glimmer for? I know it takes some on most transactions, but it's not obvious because I'm maxed out. So what do you Destiny Pros use your Glimmer on? Seems my best bet now is to find this Xur guy and buy the stuff that I wish would drop for me? I won't spend anymore real money, I'n all in on Forsaken and the Season Pass so I've paid my dues . . . lol!!

Right now glimmer seems like it will be used mainly for infusion of weapons and gear with a combination of other materials. Besides buying mats from SPIDER almost all "Vendors" in the tower and planets offer bounties that you can buy for 250 glimmer. Pay attention to the bounties as most expire within 24 hours.

There's no point in infusing weapons/gear right now as we are constantly getting drops at higher levels until you reach the soft cap of 500 and then eventually Max Level Cap.

At least you can buy Masterwork Cores from Spider.

Just read on reddit that every time you buy cores from him, or any material, the price goes up each time you keep buying it. Prices reset daily with him so I guess be in the lookout for a deal.  A few thing things to consider regarding MW cores & infusion:

    - If you infuse the same model weapon into itself it will only cost glimmer and no materials.

    - If you infuse an exotic weapon into a legendary weapon supposedly it does not need cores.

    - In previous raids MW weapons and gear dropped at a higher % rate, this might be the same with the upcoming raid and might be a big source of MW cores.

    - It's early in enough in the DLC that we don't know if other activities give out cores.

  9. Played about 3-4 hours last night and it feels like this is what the release of D2 should have been. Now I don't want to get ahead of myself but so far it feels like there are many layers of different things that you can do throughout the game. Hopefully this lasts as everyone had a similar feeling when D2 released last year. Bungie has been getting better with each campaign story they put out and I feel the same for forsaken, only played the first 2 story missions but I definitely feel like the characters have more personality than ever before.

I admit I thought the bow was stupid when it first got revealed, but now it's my favorite weapon.  Good job Bungie.

The first bow you get feels so good. I wonder how the exotic one will feel. There so good in PvE but noticed in PvP that there not a one shot kill when you do a headshot. Well at least I was watching Kraftty and he was getting headshots and not killing people all the time with it.

So why is it on Xbox you can only get Forsaken in bundles that include the base game and expansions 1 and 2? Did Bungie forget they released all that last year on Xbox and some of us actually own it already?

I read this on reddit earlier, apparently you have to search for forsaken through the website or the xbox store in order to get the expansion only or expansion and annual pass. Don't buy the bundles with base game you will be paying extra!

there's no drop in matchmaking and playing solo is a nightmare.

Bungie (from an employee's tweet) stated that drop in matchmaking will be available on release. There will be penalties for people who quit gambit as well, it seems like they are treating it as a "competitive mode."

Other random players who don't pick of motes, who won't bank motes and who don't pay attention of enemy invaders will ruin your game.

I'm sure as gambit releases people will learn how to play, but again a mode where communication is key is better to go into it with a fireteam. They do need to change a few things though to mix it up as I noticed that people are figuring out one strategy is the go to right now. As @eggydoo stated everyone needs to know their role in order for you to succeed.

Overall I think this mode is awesome as long as it's competitive and teams are balanced. (bungie continues to struggle with this though)  It has the potential of the "hero" moments found in a raid as well as in PvP, but if you are getting pub stomped it has the potential to just be plain garbage and miserable.

@bladimir2kdaily heroic on Mars? Do you mean the adventure?

Maybe the exotics we pull out of the collection next week will have random rolls?

yes adventures, that's exactly what i meant! you have a one chance  each day per character! I just did it on PC and i got a a premetheous lens! just gotta be lucky and get a gear drop then!

Heads up, xur is in the EDZ, and he's selling Year 2 versions of knucklehead radar, vesper of radius and ashen wake, meaning they have the new perk system. If you buy a dated engram from him you have a 50/50 chance of getting an armor (provided you have all the exotics already).

Doing the daily heroic on Mars also nets you a chance of the new exotics... also are we gonna have to earn back all our exotics with the new perks?

@bladimir2k Are you gonna juggle in between PC and PS4 again?  That is some dedication there.

Probably not, with the grind increasing I'm probably going to stick to one. Not sure which one, obviously PC is the superior game and I already pre-ordered forsaken on it, but still not sure if i'll stick to it as there more people on PS4 to play with.
