Boy, how fucked are we when the Mississippi inevitably runs dry?
By that point the west is done cooked so the Mississippi going dry will be the least of our concerns

I think the new political gambit will be to avoid being convicted of Espionage Act charges, which I’ve read are actually difficult to make stick on top government officials, and swallow a conviction on a lesser charge like “unauthorized removal and retention of classified material,” which is a misdemeanor offense. (That’s what Petraeus was charged with for essentially doing something similar to what Trump’s doing)
Then Trump campaigns on “the Dems went all in on attacking me and all they got me on was a misdemeanor—vote for me to rub it in their face!”, which unfortunately could probably actually work in getting him nominated. Being elected, OTOH, just got WAY harder for him.
One problem is that trump is a private citizen right now and he had plenty of opportunities to return the docs

This is literally impossible because the Football is a case that contains radio communications equipment and does NOT get 'stored' like this.
Speculation!

Speculation on twitter is that item 2/2A is the nuclear football

“Can the president declassify nuclear secrets???” Probably not, but maybe, per the guy who wrote a book about the history of nuclear secrecy in the United States last year. Not a lawyer but interesting background info

And also subsidy doesn’t necessarily or axiomatically lead to higher costs! Solar power has had its 30% credit for decades and its cost has famously and continually gone down especially relative to power produced.

That is what subsidies do. The supply didn’t change, just the number of dollars chasing itThe point is to drive supply change (to non China sources of materials for battery based cars and also from ICE engines) in the long term. If there is free money for doing xyz then the market will move to that end, especially in a somewhat competitive market

“Yeah he did it but the cops took to long” doesn’t seem like a very solid defense. Then again Ben Shapiro’s IQ is equal to his height.
I love how they ignore the fact that it took this long simply because he is the former president. Literally any other person on earth and it would have been taken care of a year and a half ago
