  1. Watching the trailer for Beyond Good and Evil 2 got me interested in the first game. The HD version that came out for the 360 was BC on Xbox so going through it right now. Definitely has personality and charm. My biggest gripe with it is you can't invert the Y camera with out inverting the X as well  Makes it that much more harder to get through but I'm enjoying it so far.

Unlike other tech sectors, brand loyality just isn't that strong for consoles.

No I think it's still strong. On my Facebook feed anytime news about MS or Sony is posted from Kotaku or IGN it is spammed with people saying how Sony is in the lead and the MS will always be last. The mentality to pick sides is part of our culture. Just look at our politics. Its like my party is better than your party regardless of what they actually stand for.

You can only pick one.   I'll be playing it on PC, so I picked PC instead of Microsoft.

Wouldn't it make more sense to label it Microsoft since it's one of the few games they do put out :p

Reading this actually has me excited to kind of do other things than the typical races. A crazy taxi like mini game in the game sounds like a nice way to spend your time when you just want to drive around but still earn credits and XP. Hopefully they manage to pull all this off with out a hitch on launch day.

Just bought the TB Stealth 600 for the bedroom xbox.  Other than the snug fit I have nothing bad to say about them.  They work great.

I will say, outside of the headphones themselves, after a couple of tries I never got the phone app to work.  The one where you can control the settings.  However, I didn't even know about it before I bought them so I guess no harm, no foul.  NOW I WANT IT TO WORK, THOUGH!

Are you sure the phone app is supposed to work with the 600 stealth? I know you can hook it up to your PC via USB and control the settings. I know the 700 stealth have Bluetooth while the 600 do not. If you haven't up dated the firmware on the 600 I recommend that you do.

She's probably a bitch. But judging by her leaked pics which showed she's a freak I think a lot of men would put up with it for a while.

That is the key phrase. There are plenty of women that are hot and not a bitch. No need to water your time with demanding people.

If I didn't have a Plasma I would happily go for the Sony X9xx series. I've heard stories from Panny Plasma and Pioneer Kuro owners who went to the X9xx and XBR Sony 4ks and they immediately sold them and hooked their Plasma back up :p

As far as blacks and color LCD won't ever compare to plasma. OLED is the next step when compared to plasma.

    Hmmm

    SO

I THINK what I may do is jump on a 65” Q9FN if I see the price drop below $2.3k, otherwise I’ll just wait for HDMI 2.1 OLEDs.

I really want to go 75” or larger but two things are stopping me: my entertainment center is one with a built-in mount, and it looks like the largest it can fit is a 65”, and seemingly any replacement also has a 65” limitation for whatever reason. :/ The other thing that is stopping me... the price difference is INSANE. The OLEDs jump up by over $5k to around $9k for the 77”, and the QLED jumps to around $6k for a 75”... the F!?!?

Yeah those extra 10" are killer. It's a reason I settled for the X900E. I was able to get a 75" or $2,200 on Amazon. Had a defect on the X900E and Sony warranty replaced it with a 75" X900F because they X900E is discontinued.

I just don't want to get him one that has big padded cans that cover both of his ears. It seems like thats how most of them are these days...

Ah I got you. Unfortunately if you just want a chat headset they are gonna break. I have gone through maybe 6 chat headsets official and non official headsets. Wired headsets usually break where the connection is made. You just have to be careful with them unfortunately.

This seems like a good place to ask this... so I don't really play online anymore, but my son does. We've now gone through two of the 1st party xbox one chat headsets. The microphone has stopped working after a few weeks twice now. He's not mistreating this thing. It just keeps breaking. Judging by the reviews on amazon, this is a thing and this headset is a piece of junk.

What's a good chat headset to get? I don't want one that covers both ears. He needs to be able to hear the world around him. Anyone have any suggestions? Preferably something cheap and easy.

I recommend the Turtle Beaches 600 stealth if you want to go wireless

Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Wireless Surround Sound Gaming Headset for Xbox One https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071ZRTMXF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_n6PmBb426AR5Y

or the the Hyper X Cloud Stinger

HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset for PC, Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, Nintendo Switch (HX-HSCS-BK/NA) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L2ZRYVE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i7PmBb9CYA8HH

The Turtle Beach is usually around $80 but and the Hyper X about $50. I find the reason most headsets break is because of the cable part where it connects to the controller gets messed up. Which is why I would probably recommend going wireless if it's in your budget. My nephew's have gone through 3 Microsoft headsets one of them being my own because they always bend the cable. I got my nephew the TB 700 stealth and so far no issues with damage.

I think I might have to jump on that. I really hope the burn in issues are overblown

I think if you are careful on what you leave on there you will be fine. C8 should be much better at screen shifting & refreshing than the 2017 & 2016 models. If you want the best TV you go LG OLED. If you want the best LCD TV for your money you go Sony X900F.

Anyone have any experience with the X900E vs X900F?

My parents want a new TV, I was going to give them my KS8000 and was just going to pick up the X900E.

I don't know if its worth the extra $300 for the 2018 model or not.

I have had the X900E and now have the X900F. The X900E is an excellent TV. The biggest differences between the two are that X900F is slightly brighter, better local dimming, faster response time so better motion handling and less inputlag and Dolby Vision support. The difference in price last time I check was about a $1k (75") difference probably not that big in the 55"/65" range. I would go with the X900E if X900F is out of your price range. Both TVs are both great.

But how’s the glare while it’s on?

Due to my room being much darker it isn't bad. Everything will look fine except for the lighting from my window. Because it is a gloss finish you won't get a smear of lighitng on it like on the Sony. You will only get glare from the light source and won't see it across the screen.

Also because OLEDs have a wide viewing angle you can sit at different locations or move the TV to avoid the glare. You will almost always have a great looking image.

  12. The RIG 800LX is a solid choice and comes with an Atmos license. I haven't used them myself but they were in the running when I was looking for a headset. I ended up going with the Razers Threshers Ultimate for my Xbox. It does wireless Dolby 7.1 and it uses optical as an input. Its one of the most comfortable headset I have used. The sound is among the best especially for wireless. The bass is really good, not too overpowering but definitely make a presence in games such as Rise of Tomb. My biggest gripe is that there is no mic monitoring. But I have gotten used to it. Would recommend if audio quality and comfort is a priority.

Apparently I don’t even have anything that uses Dolby Vision so losing it to go QLED wouldn’t be an issue

Buuuuuut, I went to Best Buy and after the guy pointed out that slight “halo” in the black scenes of the demo vid, I can’t unsee it :p

    Uuuuuugh. Guess I’ll wait. :(

The "halo" or blooming effect is from the local dimming. You can turn that off. It's a trade off in LCD where you want deep blacks but you get that effect or you don't want that effect but you wont have the deepest of blacks.

  14. Did the Skeletons thrones last night with @Emblazon and @kittykat. Man it's weird how such a simple task can become an adventure especially when dealing with other online players.

We had to find another crew to help us find and sit on the thrones but had no luck. The first sloop we approached to help us was out at sea. It looked like he was all for cooperating. When we got to the island to search for the Throne, Kitty Kat and Emblazon went on the island while I stayed on the boat to look out for other pirates, the ship we thought was gonna help us out start shooting cannon at our galleon. I didn't realize it was him that was sinking us as I went down to the bright to repair our boat. Then he boarded the boat and started slashing at me yelling "arrrrg". Our boat sank so we spawned elsewhere to look try again to find a friendly crew to help us.

The second sloop we found was in the middle of digging up some treatsure. We slowly rolled right next to them using our megaphone stating our intentions and they freaked out and booked it. We had the winds at our back so we caught up quick and we yelled at them that we don't want to loot them but they just kept sailing away  so we just let them go.

We switched servers and found a sloop out in the distance. As we tried to sail towards it we get attacked by the Kraken. This would be the second time we gotten attacked by the Kraken in the span of 1 hour or so. The sloop just sailed around us watching the Kraken tear up our ship. We managed to get away but then a storm fell right on top of us. We were running low on planks and felt the game really didn't want us to complete this event. We managed to find our way out of the storm and as the sun came out we see the sloop anchored at a sunken ship. Me and Kitty Kat hop on their sloop with treasure. We see one of the players AFK. Kitty Kat waves at Kim and I'm just jumping around with the treasure in hand to show that we are friendly. He comes back to and he thinks we want his loot. We explain that we want thrones and they agree to help us. In return we would give them a mauraders and captains chest for their services.

As we pull up to a nearby Outpost so they can turn in their loot before we head off for the Thrones another galleon apporached us. We try to communicate to the that we are friendly and are on our way to do the weekly event. Well they fired their cannons at us so it was on like Donkey Kong. They had no chance against us and the sloop working together. We fired away and did a good amount of damage to them. So they retreated. We continued with offloading our loot and they decided to come back for seconds. But once docked it was an all out battle for the island. We killed most of them and suck their ship. They spawned back and we left stranded at the Outpost with no ship. It didn't have to come down to this if they hadn't fired on us

Well after a total of 4 hours we completed the weekly event. I had a blast and working with another crew is definitely the best aspect of it. Nothing like sailing with like minded pirates. Here are some picks of our adventure.

Sounds like it's between the LG and the Sony. And that the LG will have a bit better of a picture, but a real risk of burn in, and I do play a lot of RPG's and watch a lot of sports. Just how great is this risk? Like a minor one, or real likely to happen with consistent static images? Sounds like I'd want the LG on overall picture quality, but would have to go with the Sony if the burn in risk is that high.

The risk is there. I get temp burn in every once in a while and it worries me. Luckily it has all gone away but I try not to have anything static on for too long. I suggest watching these videos to get a better idea of what burn is. You decide if it's a deal breaker.
