Why haven't surveillance cameras started getting installed at power stations as this keeps happening?
And if they are, what else should/could be done?

Every time I was in Thailand when I ordered stuff locals would freak out that it would be too spicy for me and then when I ate it just fine they were impressed (one girl I think got the hots for me lol).
I asked for the the spice level to be at what the waiter would have in a Thai restaurant once and got that same "are you sure?" look.
I will admit that the resulting spice level was a little more than what I anticipated but I made damn sure to clean my plate!

I've often debated taking a flier on the Amazon prime discount for a WAPO subscription, but I hate reading newspapers online.
Yes, I'm one of those wierdos who still pays for a local PRINT newspaper subscription.

Have you had phall? Was trying to order it at a Brick Lane restaurant and the waiter kept trying to nudge me toward something else. Once I realized what was going on I got him to just put the order in by promising that I wouldn't complain about the food being too spicy.
A friend and I went to a local Indian restaurant to try phall and, I kid you not, it wasn't the waiter who tried to stop us but rather the MANAGER who came out of the back to inform us "this is the hottest thing on the menu, are you sure?!?" 😂
He later came out midway through our meal to ask if we needed more of anything (ie- drinks, rice, naan). We replied "more of everything!"
To pre-emptively answer the question, yes we were both two of the few Caucasians present in the restaurant.
And because I love the place......

That's EXACTLY what I devour since I stopped eating meat.
Have you ever had paneer korma? That dish is equally delicious and I'm a meat eater!!!

Ultimate form is paneer tikka masala imo.

So what’s the deal? The only thing I’ve heard so far is that Trump and Melania paid no taxes in 2020 but claimed a refund of 5 million.
Aren't they still in the redacting phase prior to release or am I mistaken?

So big brother can dictate what I can access in this market economy we exist in. The smell of weed is gross, I want the govt to restrict its sale due to this. We in Agreement?
Yes.
I'm of the mind that cigarettes and marijuana should face the same restrictions as far as who can do it, where they can do it, and what taxes they pay.

Got it in one. Don't even need to be very close.

I can't wait to see the anti-vaxxer response to a melanoma vaccine if Moderna succeeds.

I think smoking is disgusting, but it’s their right to own their bodies.
I can remember when a busy smoking section ruined the whole restaurant.
Smoking affects everyone around whomever is smoking.

I consider the "My Body, My Choice" argument in favor of the pro-choice position to be the absolutely least-persuasive one possible.
The far superior argument involves the burden to society -- both economic and otherwise -- through the existence of children whose parents are either unable or unwilling to provide them with a nurturing environment.
I wholeheartedly agree with the societal/economic impact being the better argument, but I felt like he was referencing the abortion argument in his post.

Bad. I hate smoking too. But people should be free to destroy their own bodies. My body, my choice.
This is the dumbest thing I've ever read. Smoking DEFINITELY affects surrounding individuals unlike, you know, ABORTION.
Apologies if sarcasm was intended, if so you should edit that in.

The fact that the apparent solution here is shifting from a physics issue to an engineering issue seems promising.
Better/more efficient lasers should have many more applications besides the pursuit of fusion energy.
