The most interesting aspect of the situation to me is that there’s a paradox nested in the automation AI provides that was not present in prior technologies that caused large waves of disemployment via the automation of labor.

Namely, that AIs require the labor they are built to automate.  To take a simple example, an image generator AI can automate the creation of images, but it also can’t work without lots of people providing it lots of source images.  An image generator, in a sense, can’t completely automate image generation without killing itself.

Cars, by contrast, did not need horse-buggy drivers to work.

So the dynamics of the coming labor disputes and legal battles over AI are going to be unlike anything we’ve really ever seen.

    We live in interesting times.

Assuming that the substandard isn't already good enough. Synthetic data solves that no?

That money would have gotten 33 people off the criminally large Texas Medicaid home care waiver waiting list which is north of 318,750 people waiting. 33 isn't a lot but it is still 33 people now receiving services.

Maybe, but the work force in other sectors, like long term care, is going to need to double in the next 10 years. Not to mention heavy industry we're going to need to bring back to the US soon. If AI can free up the work force for other uses, great.

Humans for human jobs. Makes sense. Assuming healthcare wants the uplift.

  3. There's a sense of negligence through some packets on the american left, when constantly told that there's no money for no brainer social issues while writing whole scrip for Ukraine and Israel. Israel most painfully since it ebbs into global hypocrisy. Politics have been getting dangerously for a while and this feels like backlash over diverging social mores. Us vs. them just isn't cutting it anymore.
