  1. It sucks because I love to just hunker into a Bethesda game but this to me if I was to pinpoint feels like a stop gap game to buy some time before elder scrolls 6. It doesn't have the Bethesda charm or touch, like a completely watered down fallout in space.

I personally find Outer Worlds to be the better space adventure, by a large margin tbh... Love Outer worlds

The thing is, what you and I may or may not consider to be "hard" is different for other people. Based on his posts, some of us have a pretty good idea what @best3444's tolerence is for games. Like I asked him would he like dying a lot because I know he probably wouldn'tand you definitely will die a lot in this game regardless of your own skill level. That's not even factoring in the rogue like aspects of game's level design or the randomness of the bosses. He's free to chose for himself, but based on his post history, I doubt he'd play this game and stick with it much less enjoy it.

Yea you'd Def know his style more than me for sure, I hear ya. I was just basing off my experience is all really. 👍

  3. I dunno I guess I just didn't find it that hard, if souls is 100% I'd put remnant 2 at about 60% of a souls game difficulty. But I agree there's no reason to force it however some of my favorite genres came about by going out of my comfort zone.

Like when demons souls first dropped, at first I was not instantly a fan... But it finally landed for me and souls games have become my favorite type of game easily.

But yea I mean I think you're gonna always get different opinions on difficulty.

There’s definitely things that FO4 does better than Starfield (discovery, exploration, etc - Starfield is somewhere in between FO and Mass Effect) but I really don’t see how anyone can think that combat is one of them with any objectivity :P

Yea I'll give starfield it's combat, guns felt decent. But man the rest of that game is a slog.

Fallout 4 is so superior to Starfield. I have no idea what Bethesda was thinking with Starfield. Even the combat in Fallout 4 is better. It's like Skyrim but in the Fallout universe which is perfect! There is a sense of discovery etc.

I bought my 4090 for starfield and what a garbage game. Absolutely terrible and I love Bethesda games jank included but I was so underwhelmed with that game I still can't quite believe it

to be fair Remnant 2 is on game pass. So there is a low risk option to trying it. Like a souls game this is a game where you have to expect to die. …and die a lot. Unlike a souls game it isn’t so punishing that you drop stuff when you die. You never have to play the game on anything harder than the easiest difficulty. There’s some rewards for beating the game on the higher difficulties, but they aren’t necessary. As you play you’ll level up classes you’re using, getting stronger, earning fraught points to get stronger, and currency to level up weapons to get stronger. It is a game that starts off challenging, but gets easier the more play and do. Eventually you’ve found so many items, and gotten so strong that you’re able to melt bosses on the Survivor difficulty, the easy difficulty.

Make your first class the Handler. You get a dog that can pick you up as if you’re playing coop, it attacks enemies too, and it has skills that gives you buffs. It’s a good well rounded class for solo play.

Yea handler was how I started as well, awesome class... Came in clutch many times.

The world that they created and how it changes so often is really unique and incredible, as I said wasn't on my radar but man turned out to be one of the best games last year amongst so many others

I refuse to play it because  @skillzdadirecta said it's very difficult. I suck so bad at games these days that I refuse to play it. I got caught buying Armored Core 6 and regretted it badly.

It's not bad tho, honestly... As someone who plays the hell out of Souls games and finished them all, I find remnant 2 to be alot easier in general but that's just me. Amazing game tho.

Finally fired up Fallout 4. It's very good and feels like a true Bethesda game. I'm 2 hours in and can easily say it's better than Starfield. Big reason is you are in a big open world with very little loading. VATS are great, too. Visually is looks good modded but for some reason they decided to have the backgrounds blurred out which was stupid. It wasn't like that in Skyrim...

Everything is better than Starfield I'd say, fallout 4 was definitely solid.

I was wondering where you’ve been as well. I’m still here, but I don’t post a lot since I’m still gaming on a PS4 so I’m behind the times compared to most everyone else here. I plan on getting a PS5 when the Pro comes out.

Good to see ya Phase. And yea I don't really post much, I actually play more these days when before I used to post more. I was also just glued to destiny 2, probably 6k hours in it over the years so it really had a grip.

And nice man yea the ps5 pro will be a nice release, Def a great time to snag one I'm sure.

    What have you been playing?

I get where he’s coming from though. There is a decent percentage of that game that isn’t cutscenes, but you aren’t really doing anything other than moving your character forward while more dialogue happens.

Yea just drags on, even in AW2 I as well got impatient...its sort of the issue I'm having with ff7 a bit, the combat is really fun but you get 2 or 3 fights then just nonstop cutscenes etc...

Coming from hammering out ER and Bloodborne that's nonstop action is also why I feel the slow down a bit more than normal

When the combat opens up in Tlou2 tho it's great but just wish it was more gamey than movie. I'll get it played tho, tlou was a good ride

That's how I felt playing Alan Wake 2...

Yea, it's definitely in same ballpark. Tlou2 just feels super cinematic, there's times I just put the controller down and I'm like ok already let's get going, and forced walking parts etc... Didn't feel that as much in AW2 but eh, Is what it is.. I ultimately want to get the plat for it.
