I put nearly 300 hours into Div 1. I don't know how it is you guys are playing, but it sounds like you just enjoy rushing into enemy fire and getting merc'd.

It was pointed out to me that you're actually Lucian. I wish you hadn't changed your name, I would have known to just ignore you from the get go.

You've posted 2 separate gameplay video that have absolutely nothing to do with the point that was brought up.  The videos you posted are of the most straight forward basic missions, with enemies attempting to flank, that literally has absolutely nothing to do with what @mo1518brought up.

And I'm not saying that the spawn issue is something that happens all the time or is game breaking, just that its happened a few times and is annoying when it has happened.

I give up, it's hopeless. He's either trolling us (very successfully) or he has somehow never experienced what is a common occurrence in both div 1 and 2.

Case in point. It's not hard, you just have to pay attention.

Lol what a wonderful example to show off your superior positioning skills, thanks for the lesson! So what I need to do is always play with an AI to draw enemy fire, and only in missions where there's no reinforcement waves and a giant hole in the building separating myself and the enemy, Got it!

The spawns are semi-random, but predictable. You need to pay better attention.

I disagree. Come up on three guys in an alleyway and take them out, and all of a sudden a door beside me bursts open. My pulse skill didn't reveal them, there's doors everywhere in the alleys. My death wasn't due to a lack in attention, it was that I snuck up on the dudes to use my smg, and now I'm too close to the surprise reinforcements. Nothing about the encounter foretold I was going to die to heavy reinforcements, and it just further discourages using a close range weapon.

In another area I'm clearing a control point - I decide to flank to take out the last stragglers, or we'd be playing peekaboo with cover for a minute. Knock the last one down and a door opens directly behind me and there's a yellow bar boss. I'm instantly killed. Surprise motherfucker.

Missions do it too. Sure, you can see the monster closets in most cases, but sometimes you're in a fight for your life, both guns empty and pull out a sidearm to finish one last guy when reinforcements appear right on top of you.

I would just appreciate if the challenge in the game didn't rely on predicting where, when or if a wave of enemies is going to appear, and not to be punished when I use close range weapons or flanking moves. It already feels just like Div 1 - get you a good M1A or you're going to have a bad time.

  5. Played some last night. I played the closed and open beta, so I'm already a little burnt out replaying the same opening area lol.

In the first beta texture streaming was very much an issue on my ps4 pro, but the open beta had seemed to improve it greatly. Now in the final release it's bad again. Hope they can nail this down, cause it really takes you out of the game's brilliant atmosphere.

Little disappointed my preorder exotic shotgun is stuck at level 1. It was fun for five minutes I guess lol. Anyways, excited to dig in this weekend.

One really positive change I noticed in the final release - when you shot guys in the beta, they'd recoil and flinch excessively, often moving so much that you may as well switch targets because you're not going to get a second shot in on them until they settled down. Now the flinch animation isn't so wild, letting you track them better.

Same goes for laterally moving enemies - maybe they just cranked up the aim assist or Ads sensitivity, but I was having way less trouble tracking enemies running horizontally. In all, it feels really snappy and responsive. In the beta I had fun, but I found myself struggling whenever an enemy ran across the screen.

  6. I really love this game now. At first I thought it needed a solo mode, but the ping system has totally changed me on that. I've had so many cool moments due to being in a squad - solid flank attacks and distraction plays, good teamwork and cooperation, no toxicity except for maybe a few assholes who prefer to loot their teammates box rather than respawn them and let them gear back up. I don't think this game will be as fun on your own. Duos or a large scale team battle (20v20) could be cool, and a solo mode will probably come eventually, but squad is where it's at.

Respawn/EA are out of their damn minds with the price model they have going for items on the store in game. I'm not familiar with items for sale in Fortnite so this is really my first experience with battle royale dlc.  The 2 valentine day items:  "Epic" skin for longbow sniper rifle and a "Legendary" banner, both 1,100 Apex coins each. Total of 2,200 coins. There is an option to buy 2,000 coins +150 bonus coins for $19.99 (total of 2,150) .  But wait, you would be 50 coins short for both valentine day items:lol:.  And wait, $20+ for a single gun skin and a banner that you barely ever see?  Is this shit common in the battle royale arena? Oh and the rate you earn crafting material is insane as well. A Legendary skin costs 1,200 crafting material. I'm level 18 and have 165....

In the grand scheme I'm not offended by this. I'm not going to fall for outrageous skins. You rarely see any of the stuff for it to matter. I've just fallen really hard for this game and love playing it. Seeing those prices though... it's crazy. I'd love to see sales data about how many people are buying the stuff.

I have a feeling those two items are their first tests to see what their prices their audience will take. Fortnites skins are crazy expensive when you stop to think about them - people who have bought five or six skins for their free to play game may have spent more than a regular full price AAA game costs new. But yeah, a gun skin that, like you said, is barely visible is just as expensive as an entire fortnite costume. Think they over shot their mark here.

You and your burst fire weapons lol.  Actually I remember getting that and it wasn't bad at all.  I really liked this scout rifle I found as well but I rarely see it.

Yeah I've been using the wingman.  I tried the pistol that uses shotgun ammo but it doesn't feel like the range on it is particularly good.

Hemlock can have a single shot fire mode as well, you'd love it - it's a super high rate of fire scout rifle in that mode. Deadly.

Mozambique is the one you're talking about, and it's trash. It is a shotgun, so the range is bad, but it's only good if you dropped in a hot zone and it's the first gun you find.

  9. I really enjoyed the beta, it reminded me of how great it was playing the division in the very beginning - the atmosphere, the great gunfights, fun progression in skills and leveling up your base - but I think I'm going to wait on some impressions of the end game before I think about buying it. The first one was great until it very much wasn't. I admire how they managed to right the ship and the effort they put into it, but I still want to see which direction this one is going - buggy dark zone troll fest or diablo-esque looter shooter.

Also DC looked great, but snowy post-apocalyptic new york was like half the reason I was drawn to Div 1.

Anyone have favorite weapons so far?  I've just been using a shotty and any heavy weapon I can find.  I did get two kills one after another with a smg though.

Hemlock. It was one of my faves in titanfall. Just wish it wasn't so rare. Wingman is great too, and the Eva shottie.

Bought some credits so I could get the bamboozler. Never changing, the holos have gotten me out of so many sticky situations, and some kills too.

Gun placement, however, is abysmal. We jumped into a hot zone and only I found a weapon out of my team. I actually matched with Hysteria (smaller streamer, know him from his Halo days) and he went through 2-3 buildings and couldn't find a gun while our teammate and I died. A couple of other times we'd drop and clean out an area it would be rare that one of us would even have anything besides a pistol/shotgun. Sights are also rare, but I kind of like that.

I had a very similar experience last night. In matches where my crew landed in an empty zone we could all gear up and stood a chance against the enemies we ran into. In matches where I dropped into a busy area I'd end up with a pistol and 20 bullets if I was lucky, and instead of fast-paced tactical gunfights you end up with five or six players in the world's dumbest fist fight cause nobody could find any gear or ammo.

I assume this will be balanced and tuned in the future, but the ammo economy right now is just absolute garbage.

Edit - not sure if everyone feels the same, but I felt like loot in general was hard to see until you were right on top of it. Might be exacerbating the issue.

  12. I think this game is going to be a hit. It feels great to play, it's fun to watch, and the silliness of the characters is good enough to sell endless skins while also serious enough to be in an fps like this. I really enjoy the game, but it's a no go without a squad. I'll definitely be back for the inevitable solo game mode.

That said, this game in exchange for titanfall 3 is a travesty. Fuck EA.

  13. I bought a Playstation 1 Classic recently (I know, I know, but it was only $40) and I've been going through some of the games. Jumping Flash is hilarious. Grand Theft Auto 1 is so weird knowing where the series ended up. Ridge Racer R4 actually holds up surprisingly well - thought I'd do a couple races, ended up playing a whole campaign.

The standout for me however is destruction derby. This is one of the first ps1 games I owned, and I remember it quite fondly. It was the first game I tried on the classic, and boy oh boy this thing should not even be considered a game any more. Controls are awful, graphics are awful, mechanics are awful - it's pretty crazy to think I once loved this game and sunk tons of time into it. Really, really bad.

Bought this for myself and beat the main story fairly quickly.  Somewhat surprised how short this game is and completed a few collections.  Felt the story started off good and went meh in the end.  I bought the deluxe since it was only $10 more so hopefully the dlc adds some more content then just collecting stuff.

Anybody have some good fun mods that are their favorite?

Edit: well I guess I'm not done with story.  It just took a weird long time to trigger the next story event for some reason.

I was about to say, I thought it was a pretty good campaign, longer than I expected.

For me I use the healing mod, the one that let's you take a hit without losing your combo and the reduced gunfire damage, since my dodge skills aren't always up to snuff.

  15. Just beat this last night. Man, what a great game. It's been said countless times I'm sure, but the webslinging is just incredible. Throughout my whole playthrough I was constantly in awe of just how easily I could fly around the city and land exactly where I wanted - though this did make it extra frustrating in the rare occasions when that didn't quite work out but they have enough park our skills and jumps to get you right back into the groove should you mess up. Incredible world traversal.

The combat took waaaay too long to click for me. Not sure if that's on me or the game, but eventually I had that moment after getting most of the skills unlocked and figuring out the rhythm. It's very Arkham-esque, but different enough.

Anyways, bought the dlc, looking forward to more.
