Ya know you guys who give expensive gifts to people you love...are awesome.

Nothing against any of us who can't do it, but still, just love hearing this.

The most expensive gift I've ever given was a PS 4 to my friend. I'm too broke for anything more expensive.

Five years ago it was definitely way too common to walk into a bar with a dozen draft lines and every single one would be an IPA or other hoppy style of beer. I've been very happy with goses becoming popular, both because I've had a longstanding like of gose and sour beer in general and because other than a couple of breweries that seem to want to specialize in sour beer, it doesn't seem to be completely taking over production capacity the way IPA did.

The hazy/juicy Northeast IPAs also need to be consumed fresh even more than other types of IPA do, which I think has helped IPAs in general in terms of making sure that you're actually drinking fresh IPA. I remember what things were like before Stone started doing Enjoy By, it was way too common to find old/poorly-kept IPA on the shelf; and then Stone started doing Enjoy By and I realized that fresh IPA was actually interesting.

Just curious because I'm not sure is Guinness Blonde a goses type beer? Any recommendations of that type of beer I should try out?

We love 'em down in the South. I don't bother with the head. Nobody eats the head, they just suck out the juice, really.

I ate a ton of crawfish this season. Can't wait to do it again next year.

I just couldn't get myself to suck out the juice but I do enjoy them. I've only had them at the buffet so I do wonder how good they're fresher.

Have you ever had frog legs? When I was a kid I would go to Lunkers in Michigan to eat frog legs but I haven't had them in a very long time.

US Pizza Co. is a great local chain in my area. They have really good salads and hot sandwiches, too.

There are some other locally owned places I like.

If I'm ordering at work, I usually just get Dominos or Pizza Hut since they deliver.

Luckily a few of my favorite places deliver but the pizza places I like cost more.

I think it was April when I drank a Michelob ultra light when I went out to each crawfish.

They have some places here you can catch crawfish.  I've only had them at a casino buffet. I only eat the meat in the body and tail and never tried eating the head.

When I read the title I though.. sure.. I am a manager.  We never get paid the hours we work, but your case sounds terrible.

I've had a few managers with that problem where they got paid less per hour with how many hours they had to work.

Well, still do the rest of what I said, notes written at the time the problem occurred will count for something if you have to get a lawyer involved.

I will definitely do that and thank you for the advice.

  7. These are the pizza places I enjoy the most in Reno/ Sparks NV area

The Blind Onion Pizza- They have honey dipping sauce which is good and a very good garlic pizza.

Who the fuck puts cold sauce on their pizza?

And New York? Yeah, I'd like some cheese and a smidge of sauce on my floppy soggy cardboard. Kthanx.

I've never heard of having cold sauce on top either. I do enjoy some greasy NY pepperoni pizza depending on the pizza place. A lot of the pizza places here do the California style pizza which is a variation of NY pizza with California ingredients.

And even if you don't sue this time I'd also make sure to file away that text and any other available documentation (I know you said you can't make copies of the actual timecards or anything like that), along with notes about what happened this time. Again, writing it up as an email with a screenshot of the text and emailing everything to yourself should probably be sufficient.

This way even if you don't lawyer up this time, if this happens again it'll help to have contemporaneous documentation showing that they have a history of failing to pay you on time.

I don't have the text anymore. I have been using the free TextMe app on Fire HD and it kept shutting down after a couple seconds since Thursday. I erased all the texts I had stored to see if I could get it to work again after clearing catche, clearing storage and uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work.

  10. I went to a birthday party yesterday and tried 805 while playing beer pong for the first time. I also tried Gentlemen Jack which is very smooth. I drank way too many margaritas, Fireball and other stuff I wasn't even sure what was in it. I was definitely drunk last night! Still no hangover the next day which was nice.

After working as a Teaching Assistant (main job) since April I'm looking to apply for teacher training this October working with 4 - 11 year olds.

A friend of mine was a teacher but now she teaches teachers so she doesn't have to deal with kids anymore.

Yep, though I've also been the Manager that incorrectly paid.  Both instances, it was resolved either next day, or depending on the amount in the following weekly paycheck.

My first manager at this job would do that. If hours were missing he just put them on the next paycheck or had corporate send a check the following week. This problem happened after he left for a better job and we had 3 different managers come and go over a couple months time period.

Looking again, I think I must have made a mistake before. I think I was looking at the single income limit. Going by what I'm reading, I can contribute $5500 a year to one. So that at least seems like the obvious next thing to do.

I think I'll probably still want to do something more on top of that. Money sitting in a checking account beyond what you could reasonably need immediately just seems stupid :p

My checking account is always empty!

Everything I have played so far as been pretty generic.  (Not sure it has much in common with other Ubisoft games.)  I'm glad they got rid of the fake edginess from the first game (the random swearing and weird sex is gone).  I'm having fun -- but so far, don't understand why some people claimed it was a big improvement over the first game.

I also thought the story was generic but enjoyed controlling vehicles to run over guards, make cars chasing you crash into other vehicles and call in cops or gang members to eliminate enemies for you.
