I'd watch a season 2 but between the Onimusha: Warlords remaster from January 2019 not meeting even Capcom's modest sales expectations (they cancelled remasters of the next two games as a result) and this pretty much being a self-contained story, I don't imagine we'll get a season 2 but I hope so.

I think that a remastered collection of the first three Onimusha games bundled together would have done well, because only releasing a remaster of the first game seemed half-baked. I remember when it came out I was really disappointed that it was just the first game and not the trilogy.

More Arcane and Blue Eye Samurai are coming at least.

Yeah, I’m really looking forward to the next seasons of them because they’re a couple of my favorite animated shows in recent years.

I've heard that New Vegas is the best of the modern Fallout games and I own it, but I haven't gotten very far in it.

New Vegas is the best Fallout game IMO, but I really like 3 as well especially with all of its DLC. 4 failed to hold my interest for very long, it seemed too similar to 3 and New Vegas but not as good. But I liked it enough to play it again and finish it when I’m in the mood for it, I have all of its DLC too.

I always wanted those but could never afford them. Plus I was little young when the Shogun Warriors were out. I started getting action figures during the Thundercats/Heman/Voltron/Gijoe/Transformers phase that happened a couple of years after the Shogun warriors toy line.

I liked G.I. Joe, Transformers and Voltron, I still have my G.I. Joe and Transformers comics. I gave my G.I. Joe, Transformers and Voltron toys to my younger brother when I got older. I think that you and him are about the same age, he really liked He-Man, Power Rangers and Thundercats.

Here's a great video explaining what we're talking about for the youngsters who have NO IDEA what we're talking about :p

I haven’t seen that, it’s really good. Shogun Warriors were some of my favorite toys as a kid. I liked both the big plastic ones, and small die-cast metal ones. I no longer have the big plastic ones, but I still have all of the small die-cast metal ones in their original boxes. I also still have all of the comics.

I've heard Rage of Light but not the other two.

She left Rage of Light, they have a new singer now. The Dark Side of the Moon and Evenmore are really good, if you like Ad Infinitum then you might like them too.

When I put VNV nation on there I knew you'd say something about it.

Yeah, I’ve been listening to them since the 90s. They’re one of my favorite EBM/synth bands.

    @Phaseknox you know about this?

No, but it looks awesome. I still have my die-cast metal Shogun Warriors from when I was a kid, and UFO Robot Grendizer is one of them. I’m definitely buying this, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

    There is no perfection though.

There have been some games that I felt were perfect. They’re rare, but they exist.

I'm not as forgiving as most on here. For instance I'd give Starfield a 7.5 which means it's ok snc probably worth playing.

For me a 6/10 is ok, while a 7.5/10 is good and worth playing if you like the genre.

I'd give TLOU2 or part 1 and 10/10 which means they are masterpieces.

I’d give The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II a 9/10 or 9.5/10 which means that they’re masterpieces to me as well.

I don't really post much, I actually play more these days when before I used to post more. I was also just glued to destiny 2, probably 6k hours in it over the years so it really had a grip.

I don’t play multiplayer or online games, only single player games.

    What have you been playing?

I’ve been playing all sorts of games from big releases to indies whichever I’m in the mood for at the time. I played a lot of indies last year, but I plan on playing some bigger games this year like God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West and Hogwarts Legacy.

Oh just living life man, working on new house and all that life stuff lol I got back to throwing a few posts on gaf and figured I'd see what's cookin here.

I was wondering where you’ve been as well. I’m still here, but I don’t post a lot since I’m still gaming on a PS4 so I’m behind the times compared to most everyone else here. I plan on getting a PS5 when the Pro comes out.

I didn't think this was a particularly strong showing for this game. I'm sure the game will be fine and I've enjoyed Shift Up's other work (Nikke specifically) but I think they probably should have focused on some awesome looking gameplay here instead of, "here's this girl, and this guy, and where she sits and drinks soda," it was nearing some B game vibes to me.

I get what you’re saying, but I actually liked that they showed more than just action and combat because I was under the impression that it was a pure action game but it has adventure and RPG elements as well. It definitely looks like a B game, but I’m fine with that because I really like B games.

Is it a sexual thing? Like you prefer to stare at a female protagonists ass rather then a males?

That’s part of it, because if I’m going to be looking at a character that I’m playing as for long periods of time then I prefer them to be one that I personally find appealing to look at as opposed to one that I don’t. And I usually find female characters more appealing than male ones in general in terms of personality, and voice acting. But for the most part I’ve just always found athletic badass ass-kicking female characters to be cool, so they’re what I prefer playing as in games.

Do you miss out on a lot of games because of this? I never care if I'm a male or female if the game is good.

Yes, I often pass on games that have male protagonists that I would otherwise like if they had female protagonists because I don’t really like playing as dudes in games anymore. There’s exceptions of course, but for the most part I only like to play as female characters in games these days.

It's Prince of Persia not Princess of Persia :talkhand:

You’re rescuing the Prince of Persia in this game, not playing as him.

If you own this game digitally you can still download it.

Oh ok, I was under the impression that it was being removed entirely including not being able to download it even if you had purchased it. Do you know if that has ever happened with any digital games before?

  13. I have this for Xbox 360, but haven’t played it. My entire Xbox 360 game collection is physical, and the games are complete on disc so I can play them offline without needing to download anything. Very few Xbox 360 games require patches or updates, they released when they were completely finished unlike a lot of games now.

It was that Korean Bayonetta game. I think it was first showed off under another name.

It was originally called Project Eve.

Yeah, I’m really looking forward to it. I will buy it on day one if I have a PS5 when it comes out.

He'll have to get it after GTAVI comes out though!

I was originally planning on getting a PS5 when Grand Theft Auto VI came out, but I will get one this year if they release a Pro.

  15. I played the demo, and it was good but not great IMO. The graphics and character models/animations are really good, but there is way too much UI clutter on the screen that I found really distracting. Also, there’s too many flashy visual effects during combat making it difficult to tell what’s going on. The game itself is a somewhat linear third person action RPG with an anime aesthetic. It seemed rather typical for the genre without anything that really made it stand out to me. I liked it enough to get it when it’s $40 or less, but I won’t be buying it on day one for $60.

At a certain point I realized that actually I like Ys9 as much as Ys8, both are amazing action rpgs and my favorite in the genre. Even the dungeons are a lot of fun here. The pacing is on point, the action is speedy and impactful. There’s tons of side content worth doing. It’s not too short nor overstays its welcome. Leveling up is well done and rewarding. You don’t need to grind beyond just doing side missions.

Ys8 had better music but the music here is still good, just not as amazing as Ys8. But the fun traversal mechanics added here with the gifts and better enemy design here easily make up for that. I loved the story and how it wrapped up with a satisfying resolution to the mysteries. Ys10 is definitely higher than almost any other game on my most wanted list now.

    10/10

I played Ys IX last year, but I stopped playing it due to repetition. I got burned out on spending the entirety of the game in the city and prison, neither of which I found to be very appealing environments. I liked Ys VIII a lot more, I liked the shipwrecked on a deserted island story and it had a great sense of adventure and discovery to it. The island was colorful and lush with varied areas, and the Dana segments added even more variety to everything. The music was also exceptionally good, the music in Ys IX doesn’t compare IMO. I liked Ys: Memories of Celceta more than Ys IX as well, it has a colorful and varied game world and great sense of adventure to it similar to Ys VIII. The music is really good, too.

After Ys: Memories of Celceta and Ys VIII I was a little disappointed with Ys IX since it’s a darker more claustrophobic and repetitive game by comparison. I still liked a lot about it such as its story, characters, combat and traversal, but it lacked a real sense of adventure like Ys: Memories of Celceta and Ys VIII had. I still liked it enough to probably play it again in the future and finish it, but it didn’t appeal to me as much as it did to you. However, I’m really looking forward to Ys X because it’s going back to the grand adventure style of the series.
