I look young myself but these damn gray hairs are now ruining that lol.

Yeah, you have a youthful look based on the pictures that I’ve seen of you. As for gray hairs, I’ve been getting a lot more lately due to getting older and having more stress. I shave my head so they’re not really noticeable in my hair for that reason, but I have a beard which has been getting grayer and grayer.

Tbh, when you're in your 50's you are actually pretty young IF you have good health. My Dad is 85 and looks back in his 50's as though he was a youth.

Yeah, my mom is 75 and still considers me to be somewhat young. Part of that’s because I look and act younger than I am. People usually think that I’m in my early 40s, my mom says that I look younger than my younger brother who is 42.

My older brother is 55. I grew up with him so I know how you behaved in your heyday mr.!

My younger brother is your age. As for my heyday, I miss it because I had a lot of good times back then. Now I’m just a cranky old man with a lot of health problems.

Dead Island 2.   Considering how long this one took to come out and all the shit it went through, it turned out surprisingly well.   Having more fun with it than I did Dying Light 2.

Dying Light 2 was disappointing IMO, I liked the first one a lot more. But I liked Dead Island even more than it, and I expect to like Dead Island 2 a lot as well. It’s going to be one of the first games that I get when I get a PS5.

  5. It’s been a few months since I’ve given an update on my situation. About a month ago I was starting to walk well with my prosthetic leg/foot without it causing any issues to my stump incision, and I was able to wear it for longer periods of time without it hurting. At this same time we started getting snow and it turned to ice on the front ramp, so I had to go out through the back door and the dirt ground in the back is bumpy and uneven. I started to walk and my prosthetic leg/foot hit something and I tripped forward severely bending my right knee inside of it which made a crack/pop sound, and I was unable to put pressure on it. I went to the hospital and had it x-rayed and thankfully nothing was broken, but it was severely sprained. I’ve been waiting for it to heal. It still hurts, but not as much. It’s still really swollen. I don’t know how long that it’s going to be until I can use my prosthetic leg/foot again. This combined with other health and life issues has put me in somewhat of a state of depression.

  6. I started playing Grandia because I was in the mood for a cartoonish and fun JRPG. I played it back when it originally came out, but didn’t finish it. The PS1 version recently came out for PS4 so I got it, but I wanted the Grandia HD Collection which they didn’t release for PS4 for some reason. Hopefully Grandia II will come to PS4 as well.

What is everyone playing on? I'm on the fence between PC and Xbox versions. I'd rather get the PC version for the Deck but the Digital Foundry review said there was some frame rate hitches or something weird going on with the PC version. Curious what the general consensus is.

I’m playing it on PS4, and I haven’t experienced any bugs or technical issues thus far.

Playing it now.   Feels like seeing an old friend again for the first time in years.   Didn't even try the modern control schemes.  Felt right at home with the old school controls.

The original tank controls felt too clunky and stiff for me now after playing so many third person games over the years, I switched to the modern controls and I prefer them as they’re similar to the controls in Tomb Raider: Anniversary.

I think it's cool that with a click of a button you can go between the original graphics to the remastered graphics. It's not a HUGE leap but definitely better.

Are you playing it? I’ve been playing it, and I feel that the graphics are quite an improvement over the originals. It has detailed/smooth textures, nice lighting effects and runs at 60fps. It still has the same blocky architecture and environments of course, but definitely looks a lot better. The modern controls make it play better as well, they’re similar to the controls in Tomb Raider: Anniversary. I’ve been playing the first Tomb Raider and really enjoying it since it’s one of my favorite games from the past. My only real complaint is the camera, it gets really twitchy at times especially in more enclosed areas.

Out in Japan already, Ys10 - which really did at least make Digital Foundry’s John put it on his GOTY list for the Japanese version - is making a quicker entry to NA than usual with a Fall 24 target! The traversal looks wonderful.

Switch (target platform), PS5, AND PC all at launch!

I didn’t know that it was out in Japan already. It’s coming out for PS4 at launch too which will be the version that I get since I won’t have a PS5 yet, and I expect it to be my GOTY.

Yeah there are ship battles, but I trust Falcom far more than Ubi to make them fun.

The ship battles in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey are a lot of fun, why haven’t you played it yet? It’s the best Assassin’s Creed game IMO.

Came in expecting a thread on Assassin's Creed: Red.

That will be my GOTY whichever year that it comes out.

That's why I usually tell people to start with 7 or Memories of Celceta - because they're short like the older ones

Ys: Memories of Celceta isn’t short, it might be shorter than Ys VIII and IX but it’s still a lengthy game.

I'd watch a season 2 but between the Onimusha: Warlords remaster from January 2019 not meeting even Capcom's modest sales expectations (they cancelled remasters of the next two games as a result) and this pretty much being a self-contained story, I don't imagine we'll get a season 2 but I hope so.

I think that a remastered collection of the first three Onimusha games bundled together would have done well, because only releasing a remaster of the first game seemed half-baked. I remember when it came out I was really disappointed that it was just the first game and not the trilogy.

More Arcane and Blue Eye Samurai are coming at least.

Yeah, I’m really looking forward to the next seasons of them because they’re a couple of my favorite animated shows in recent years.
