Same - it's an enormous epic and is clearly meant to be watched as one. I can't imagine how much minds would have been blown had the 4-hour single film version been released into theaters (or something close to it). So much happens in those two movies it would have been crazy.

I think about this hypothetical a lot. It certainly would have changed the conversation around Kill Bill and how its viewed. But also I fail to see a four hour movie having the kind of success that Tarantino needed at the time. He hadn't released a movie in 6 years and while it has since be reevaluated Jackie Brown was seen as somehwhat of a disappointment after Pulp Fiction so he really needed to bounce back.

I would love for the One True Kill Bill to be readily available to see by legit means. That’s when I’ll consider it a proper film. :p

He's screened The Whole Bloody Affair at his Beverley Cinema theater a couple times if that counts.

Having the thumbnail be someone aiming down sight with their fingernails painted trans flag colors is… a choice.

For the record those aren’t the trans flag colors. But it’s certainly was a deliberate choice for the sniper to have brightly painted nails.

  3. An incredibly dumb and shallow movie masquerading as something important and profound. It has so little to actually say about the state of the world or humanity in general, and what it chooses to say is pretty obvious and communicated in ham-fisted ways. It has the look and appearance of an A24 movie but with the intellect and subtlety of Michael Bay.

To address some concerns people had, I personally don’t see it as a dangerous movie that encourages violence. It's not really a movie where you are rooting for sides, though I guess ultimately you are siding against the president. I don’t see it as a right-wing wish fulfillment movie either, but it also avoids saying much of anything that would offend conservatives other than Offerman as president basically being Trump-lite (and really lite at that)

But if the trailers turn you off from the very idea of this movie I don't think you will be won over by this movie. I suspected early on this one would appeal to me, but I wanted to like it because Garland is interesting. A few people I trust approved so I gave it a shot and it turns out my initial feeling was correct.

  4. His whole retiring after 10 movies thing is dumb. Also I'm not sure if he's counting both volumes of Kill Bill as one movie* or not counting Death Proof as a movie, because otherwise he has already released 10 movies.

*I personally count the Kill Bills as a single movie. If you can watch them both in the same day it's quite the experience.

Dr. Lance Dodes wrote that the former president showed signs of "confusion about reality" and "would have to be immediately removed from office" if elected.

Remember when John Stewart said Biden and Trump’s mental declines were similar? Actual experts say that is not true at all. Biden’s memory issues seem to be normal for someone his age, while Trump is showing signs of advanced dementia.

  6. I knew in my heart that Larry David wasn’t telegraph from the beginning of this season that he was gonna repeat the Seinfeld finale without there being some sort of twist. I enjoyed the fake out ending with Jerry showing up to essentially apologize for the Seinfeld finale. I never hated how that show ended but this ending makes the case against it. It is more satisfying seeing Larry free at the end. We know he’s not a good person but we followed him for two decades and we want him to be in a relatively okay place at the end.

Not gonna lie I got a little emotional seeing the main cast together at the end, still bickering as always. Lewis was not looking great this season but glad he was able join this season, especially in the final scene. Lewis may be gone but the fictional version of him on Curb still lives and that is a truly comforting thought.
