IMO "AI" will never exist without some kind of biological component. It is not possible for the technology as it is no matter how powerful to become intelligent in a way a biological entity is.

Machine learning or machine pattern recognition is much more accurate terminology. No doubt it can do things far beyond the capability of any human but its scope is extremely narrow and prone to catastrophic failure if anything unexpected is thrown its way. It will never have the ability to adapt to an unexpected and changing environment like a human. For example "AI" could never have brought back the astronauts from Apollo 13.

The mouth breathers really thought the Supreme Court was gonna go full fascist.

While I mostly agree with this, I can't emphasize enough on how much Trump is toxically influencing everything. While getting rid of Trump might not fix the problem, it eliminates one of the segments of the human centipede of the right wing mediasphere. For one he allows right wing bullshit that would normally be quarantined to their bubble a giant bullhorn.

Trump drove a lot of people to the polls both for and against him. If the Dems are still juiced from going blue + Trump suppressing his own base it could happen.

Well maybe, but the main reason why they fell 25% was because of the whole TikTok situation.  They get 12% of their revenue from them and Tiktok said they were putting their expansion on hold because of this Trump thing. Their stock shot up last time the deadline came and went.

It's deeply unlikely to succeed, but some House Republicans are weighing an effort to challenge Biden's Electoral College win.

Seems far fetched and it’s hard for me to imagine they’d ever really go through with it, but nonetheless one must be wary of just how in thrall senators like Rand Paul are to Trump; he’s already peddling voting machine conspiracies.
 

Interesting that a small cadre of Democrats (in the House of course) threatened to do the same thing when the electoral college finally pledged its votes for Trump in 2016, but were overruled by saner institutionalists, including Biden.

If they do that Pelosi can just choose not to hold a vote and become president.

Some people, like Trump, very clearly have deep, deep insecurities. I can understand why nothing is ever enough for him, because all you have to do is tell him he still has tiny hands and he'll make it his next goal to have the largest gold plated living room ever built. Kelly Loeffler does not strike me as such a person. She won, and she knows she won.

They see themselves as poor compared to the multi billionaires.
