No, Florida and Georgia both went red and caused some early panic here about the House, but the House has basically gone according to projections

Oh man, the Steve King race is within 0.1% at 67% reporting
Awwww, never mind, he got a big bump in the next update

These might've been mentioned when I was away for a while, but marijuana legalization won in Michigan and lost in North Dakota

GOP Senate's gonna keep pumping out crackpot judges, but Dem controlled House can hold hearings on administration scandals

Turns out that eliminating gerrymandering helps the other party compete in elections. Who knew?

Judicial appointments would have stopped though.
If Dems won the Senate, but I never really thought that was on the table

Dems are going to end the night with more House seats and more Governors (important for redistricting!) than they started with at the start of the night. It might be a disappointing night, but the status quo was Hellworld and we're going to end up with either an incremental or more significant improvement over Hellworld. They might lose Senate seats, but I don't think that matters because you can't just run roughshod over the Senate if you don't have 60.

Well 1.5 million people got their voting rights restored in Florida at least.
A common and frustrating dynamic is that direct ballot measures that represent what would be considered Democratic positions always seem to do better than Democrats themselves. A whole bunch of minimum wage referendums won in 2016 while Dems were getting shitcanned.

Even if this is the case... it shows that electorally, the current Trump/GOP policies are merely somewhat unpopular. And that's really, really sad.
It's been sad since the beginning. There's no possible result tonight that would change my opinion on that.

Some day millennials will save the world, unless boomers have irrevocably destroyed it first

Bob Menendez won, so whatever else happens, at least the guy who very narrowly avoided being convicted on corruption charges is coming back

It's back up again. It seems way too erratic. I'm not gonna watch this thing or it's gonna break my brain (538, that is)

Frum was freaking out about the caravan like a week ago in the Atlantic. He's as dumb as anyone in Trump's circle, he just cares a little more about being seen in a somewhat respectable light.

Also, the fascist guy in Brazil is planning on basically bulldozing the Amazon rainforest. It's getting genuinely terrifying thinking about this stuff. We're continuing to move in the wrong direction.

This is gonna become mainstream Trump supporter theory

Slight bump for Evers over Walker in the last update. Seems like a good note to go to bed on. Good night everybody.
