  1. I probably have every generation of a Raspberry Pi except a Zero. The RetroPie tutorials are pretty simple to follow and you can usually get things up and running in less than an hour.

I've only really messed with SNES stuff as I have a Retrode than I can play physical carts.

I'd say the key thing is to make sure you have a good power supply. Don't just use any old phone charger. If you notice a little lightning bolt symbol in the top right corner of the screen then you power supply isn't good enough.

Right - we have only her side from the Polygon interview regarding the events of July 5.

The ArenaNet employee handbook SHOULD have a section covering social media interaction with fans if the firm does encourage that interaction as a routine part of an employee's expected functions.  This is even more important if the firm encourages an atmosphere of being "outspoken and fearless" and if "there were meetings in which executives promised us that they wanted us to speak up about the ugly things, the harmful things, and that we wouldn’t be punished for doing so..."

If a firm values those things, then it must make every effort to ensure that its employees understand what the "boundaries" around those things are in a culture of engagement with the community at large.  The ArenaNet CEO's statement to Polygon says "The expectation was to behave professionally and respectfully, or at least walk away."  Was that expectation communicated to employees?  Were there policies and procedures in place that documented what would happen if such an expectation was violated?

Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but "do not openly insult our customers" probably doesn't need to be explicitly spelled out somewhere for employees to follow it.

If that is true and she was terminated without warning/counseling from HR for her social media activities in regard to fan interaction, then that changes my perception of events entirely, especially since ArenaNet was well aware of her social media use to address the industry's anti-woman toxicity issues.

I dunno, publicly calling out a popular streamer for your game a "rando asshat" seems pretty actionable regardless of whether she's outspoken on social media about some issues.

From what I read on /r/washingtondc the only people wearing MAGA hats in DC nowadays are 13 year olds on middle school trips, which I think says everything.

I was in DC a month ago and it was the first time I saw a MAGA hat in the wild. It did seem mostly like younger people. Saw some older people wear a blue hat with "TRUMP" in big lettering on the front.

  5. One of the things that has always pissed me off about my company is that every town hall meeting they seem to hold they bring up dividends. Not a stockholder's meeting, employee town hall and they're bragging to their employees about how their handing out more money to stockholders instead of increasing pay/benefits for their employees.

My first time living abroad as an adult I was able to observe this in action. For example, when I lived in Chile (hilarious considering they are fourth on this list) I saw a lot of open hostility to me as an American. Which tbh I understood and didn't have a problem dealing with since the US was in the middle of turning Iraq into a post-apocalyptic wasteland. But there was also a lot of open hostility towards Peruvian immigrants. Also, Americans can at least hide their racism. But when I lived in South America it wasn't uncommon to hear horrifically stereotypical things about blacks and Asians—out in the open in normal conversation—that I won't bother repeating here.

Similarly, my brother went to Europe (Germany, Poland, Amsterdam) a month ago a recalled that casual racism seemed way more prevalent than he's seen in the US.  Particularly how people talked about foreign soccer players and stuff like that.
