I screencapped that. He said it in the replies to an article that pointed out his donations to a GOP House re-election campaign.

To the best of my knowledge, Musk only said he hasn’t donated money to a Super PAC.

I'm not opposed to the idea Musk is saying here, but surely you can see that he doesn't really seem to have any sort of compass on this right?

He literally said he gives everybody money so they actually answer his phone calls when he makes them. At least he was honest about what gets you access to politicians.

Except he's denying it. And also pushes himself as some sort of progressive. My issue isn't the honesty it takes to deal with politics (pay everyone), but how sleazy and disingenuous he is about it I suppose.

I feel he's contributed to both parties, though I don't know the percentages. I think if you're rich, that's how you try to influence the parties since your views may be mixed. Ex: Linda McMahon years ago contributed to both Republicans and Democrats. Bill Gates did similarly.

My issue isn't playing both sides, my issues is being dishonest in his own political messaging. And just because "other rich guys" do it doesn't mean it's okay he does (not saying you're saying that, I'm speaking generally).

I hadn't been paying much attention to this because it didn't seem to deserve it... but I had assumed that people were mad because she was going to be playing a man who had transitioned into a woman. I could see how that might rub some people the wrong way... sure...

But people were mad because she was playing a woman who lives her life as a man? Really?

No, they were upset that a cisperson was playing a transperson more generally. Not the genders being played specifically.

I just got all 5 MI movies on digital 4K. I re-watched the first one after having not seen it since the movies. It was better than I remembers (i hated it when i first saw it)...but man does it look so old and outdated. Its weird bc its not really that old.

Mission: Impossible is over 22 years old. That's pretty fuckin' old for a film (I'm 31 years old).

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation may be the best M:I movie. All of them are entertaining in their way, though all of them lack any real character depth or substance, they are fun action-espionage films.

I look forward to a second go-around with writer-director Christopher McQuarrie.

I thought it picked up. It's still not up their with the best.

I'm not so sure that the Netflix shows are getting worse, I just don't think they are getting better. They all just feel too similar and the novelty is wearing off.

That said, Luke cage season 2 is pretty good.

I do look forward to Luke Cage season 2.

Yes, I do agree with you lol.

Oh, yea, I mean, the season is definitely weak compared to the first and the other Marvel-Netflix offerings (except for Iron Fist which is almost unwatchable). I was just saying that S2 of JJ does indeed pick-up out of it’s initial boringness. :sun:

Jessica Jones season 2 is easily the worst Marvel Netflix TV show season, only coming out ahead of Iron Fist season 1. I'm 10 episodes in and it's still slow, boring, and worst of all, not that compelling. The acting is still good though.

And I'm not one of those that thinks the Marvel Netflix shows have gotten worsen. While I was disappointed by The Defenders season 1, The Punisher season 1 was genuinely good TV (with a slow start and an overlong season, as per usual) with a great ending.

But I did not enjoy the slog that has been JJ season 2. A shame when JJ season 1 is one of the best of the Marvel Netflix TV shows.

This is just irritating and sad.

I literally drove to a CVS earlier this week and there was a young black boy doing this exact same thing (same type of box and everything) for some school help program. I was unfortunately in a genuine rush, but even so when he stopped me I talked to him for awhile and he explained what he and his classmates were doing, etc. I told him I didn't have cash on me but would get some. The CVS didn't have cash back (for some stupid reason) and I told him I would come back from elsewhere but he said he was being picked up soon anyway. I told him best of luck and to keep at it as selling things that way isn't easy. THIS IS A NORMAL AND HUMANE INTERACTION BETWEEN AN ADULT AND A CHILD.

This old white lady shows up just as I did, but instead this is how she acted.

I just. C'MON. Am I crazy to be angry about this? Asking genuinely I think at this point. :(

You can argue all you want about iOS being closed, but Mac OS most certainly is not at all. No more or less than Windows. The hardware might be, but not the OS.

I was referring to the hardware when I said closed, I really should have made that clear. I should have said PC instead of Microsoft for that part.

Windows isn't open source either. In my experience (and counting myself) developers who prefer Linux, prefer Mac over Windows because Mac is Unix based and makes development far more compatible and similar. That's starting to change only recently since MS has begun adding the excellent feature of a Linux subsystem.

You're right, saying open source is a bit much heh.

That's true their similar, but at least coders in my life say to me they feel that despite the Unix similarity, they feel their hands are more tied by Mac. Like I said though, not hating on Macs, and you have more experience than me on this personally I think, so I default to you on the subject. I can see it going the other way and I'm mistaken.
