  1. Yeah I don’t buy it, there was a slight tightening with the new numbers, with more coming from more Biden areas
  2. We know she's all of these things, but we're thinking longer term. Hell, even mid-term. She'll continue to get experience and continue to build a cohort.
  3. This is less on Hispanics and more of a noted behavior of 2nd-3rd+ generation immigrants. It also depends on the community itself. I grew up in both El Paso and the RGV of Texas. Those areas aren't necessarily anti-immigrant yet given how closely tied their familial structures are to border-crossing relations.
  4. So the only justification I can come up with here is that Trump actually hit on the covid economy in a tangible way. The pandemic disproportionally affected minorities. So while we all might be preaching for shut downs, masks, regulations etc., many hispanics in working class communities can't afford shut downs. Trump yelling loudly to open the country signifies to them a sense of self-preservation of their own skin. That's all I can think of. Any Trump support for non-Cuban hispanics isn't driven by immigration rhetoric, social values, or anything else.
  5. That's fair. But a historically disenfranchised group without tangible experience in feeling political agency isn't going to magically start registering to vote for a geriatric white man either.
  6. Agreed, that's not on Hispanics though. Keep someone in your blindspot all you want, but don't be surprised when you turn to find them and they're not there.
