Chris Terrio is lying and is doing damage control. Ok I don’t actually know that but fuck what he and JJ did to Rose.

JJ is a liar too. There is no fucking way I believe him that Finn was wanting to tell Rey he is force sensitive the way the scene is. He thinks he’s about to DIE and his big confession to Rey, the last thing he NEEDS to tell her before they die, is that he thinks he is force sensitive. BS. There was a time when Rey and Finn were going to get together and JJ fucked up in post for the millionth time.

NONONO, Rian fucked it up because he gave Finn an arc of selfishness to selflessness. JJ was just fixing a wrong and made Finn "Rey! Rey! Rey!" again. He needs another movie to express Finn's true feelings for Rey.

Agreed. But to me it wasn’t even that emotional, it could have been. They could have take another minute or two to really build the tension. But instead it resulted in something that was surprising for sure but lacked the real emotional punch that potentially killing a main character should have. Which kinda sums up the whole movie for me

It certainly didn't help that there was a scene in the trailer of Chewie and Lando in the Falcon which didn't happen yet.

Considering how xenophobic and intolerant the Empire was always portrayed to be, I was surprised Thrawn was as high ranking as he was. I guess the point was it was a true testament to his tremendous tactical mind and leadership ability.

    Must read: https://www.amazon.com/Thrawn-Star-Wars/dp/0345511271

It details his origin and rise through the ranks as an Imperial officer.

A lot of fans were mad Disney ousted the EU but one of their better moves was reeling in Timothy Zahn and re-introducing Thrawn.

  4. Having watched Solo again, I'm going with these rankings.

Empire > A New Hope > The Last Jedi > Rogue One > Rebels > Clone Wars > Return of the Jedi > The Force Awakens > Solo > The Rise of Skywalker > Sith > Menace > Clones

The only truly groan-worthy thing in Solo was how he got his name.  RoS just slaps you in the face during the opening crawl and over-delivers fan service where it's not needed. I'll still buy it when it's on blu because I'm a completionist whore. I hope to hell Abrams is never involved in a franchise I give a shit about ever again.

Okay. I just posted a full review post in the other thread. Wanted to pop in here and say that I was incredibly disappointed with it. It's easily the worst in the sequels.

    I'd slot it in as:

Empire > A New Hope > The Last Jedi > Rogue One > Return of the Jedi > The Force Awakens > The Rise of Skywalker > Sith > Menace > Clones

That's pretty much my ranking. Where do you rank Solo? I'm going to watch it again soon.

One last thing I noticed that is a more insidious response to the toxic internet uproar generated by the first two films in the sequel trilogy.

I don't know if they were ever seriously going to create a romance between Rey and Finn, but after the first film they definitely seemed to make pains to pair Finn up with a woman of color. Rose in The Last Jedi and then after racist backlash to HER, they said fuck it and let's pair him up with a black woman.

Am i reading too much into that?

In RoS, I could buy it.

In TLJ, I see Finn as Han in ANH. His motivation in TFA and when he wakes up is Rey. By the end of the movie, he's sacrificing himself to the cause. The set up for Rose and Finn was there but left open enough to interpretation in future stories. I'd be more concerned if

    Spoiler

Jannah was substituted in for Rose.

  7. Can't say I was a fan. Easily the worst of the ST but still better than any in the PT. Serious sensory overload. 5/10.

    Spoiler

One thing I didn't see touched on was the confrontation of Rey and Kylo when she was in his quarters. Kylo didn't know where she was until Vader's helmet display was destroyed yet she was holding the Sith dagger the entire time. :silly:

The only fan service I enjoyed was Wedge's 3 seconds of screen time.

As far as the SSDs being destroyed at the end. The obvious conclusion to their demise is that they lost the will to live.

Are the moons of Jupiter visible from Earth? The reason why I think it's our moon is because on last week's episode, they did a dissolve edit from Veidt's prison to the actual moon in the sky which gave me the impression visually that he was on the moon.

I don't think that dissolve was to be taken at face value. Probably what you were supposed to get out of that was that Veidt wasn't on Earth anymore.

Also, I do know that Jupiter would not appear that large if Veidt were standing on our moon.
