Red light blinking

17 April 2013 - 04:21 PM

I tried turning on my PS3 but the red light keeps blinking followed by some beeping. I can't even eject the Blu-ray I have inside. This never happened before.

I have one of the original PS3 models with backwards compatibility if that makes any difference.

Is it dead? :(

Who else wants a sequel to WarioWare DIY?

14 March 2013 - 03:18 PM

I'm surprised a 3DS one hasn't happened yet.

I think WarioWare + 3DS would be perfect. I thought the last one that came out, WarioWare DIY was fantastic and one of my favorite DS titles. The problem I had with WarioWare games is you can exhaust the content in it pretty quickly. According to my 3DS activity log, I exhausted my ambassador GBA WarioWare game in a tad less than 3 hours.

That's where WarioWare DIY really shined cause they solved that problem and had an awesome level creator. The problem with it was that it was a bit too limited (games can only be based on stylus) and as such limited the overall game variety compared to other WarioWare games. The online functionality was pretty cool too. I think in a sequel they can expand on the level creator, maybe even allow gyroscope and camera use. At the same time they can make online sharing even easier.

Make it happen Nintendo.

Here's the differences between each version according to the official site.

Since we're getting close to release, I'd like to talk a bit about the different versions of the game and what you can expect from them.
First let's discuss the commonalities.  All the builds are fun, and will squeeze your joy glands.  All six versions support leaderboards.  All the console builds have solid framerate.  Achievements (and their PSN cousins, the trophies) are supported on PS3, Steam, and Xbox.  Cloud saves are supported where available: for PSN+ subscribers, for Xbox Live Gold subscribers, and for all Steam users.
Now onto the differences.

PS3
For technical reasons, we had to remove a few features from the PS3 version: depth of field, shadow filtering, and micro leaderboards at the end of every level.  As a result of having no depth of field, the game is sharper and colors more vibrant.

Steam (Windows, OSX, Linux)
Because they run on a PC, the Steam versions are the most configurable, but also the most volatile: the game is only as good as your computer.  And let's be clear: this game was designed to be played with a gamepad.  If you don't have a wired Xbox 360 controller, you will still be able to play the game using the keyboard, but the gamepad controls are much more intuitive!
Steam also makes it easy to stay up to date with the latest fixes.
It's also on sale until launch!

Wii U
The clear difference with the Wii U version is that you can play the entire game on either your gamepad or your TV.  Also, because it is the newest platform with the most memory, it has the best overall load times of any of the consoles.  Initial loading may be a bit slower, but it speeds up as you play since we can keep more content in memory, which means fewer loads overall.

Xbox 360
The Xbox build has the slowest load times of the consoles.  It's possible we will be able to speed this up in a future update.

I'm thinking of downloading it on eShop instead of going with the usual XBLA version, I think I'll really enjoy off tv play with this. It doesn't hurt that my Wii U is starving lol Who else is downloading it?
