mclumber1
Russia's outgoing space agency chief had been threatening for awhile that Russia would stop supporting the ISS, but now it appears to be official. I'm not quite sure what the actual "end" would look like for cooperation, but it's doubtful that Russia would give or sell the Russian side of the station to NASA and their partner agencies. This would mean that the Russian side would have to be decoupled and disposed of. As it stands, the ISS cannot function without the Russian side for any long period of time. So if this actually happens, NASA will also have to abandon the space station, or (quickly) find a way to keep the station operating until 2030, which is the station's current end of life.
