No, I’m not confused. The terms are being used interchangeably. You’re not supposed to do either. Scrubbing it with soap and water is obviously incorrect, but a lot of people think you’re supposed to rinse your chicken(and other meat) off in the sink. You don’t do that either, because it just spreads the bacteria around and cooking it properly kills the bacteria anyway. Cooking it is the only way to kill the bacteria.

I used to rinse chicken, now I brine it for like 10 minutes instead.

Yep, all meat apparently. Except burger, I guess. They say you can’t really wash it. But then don’t get the difference. 
 

Yes, you’re definitely supposed to wash produce before eating. Just rinse it off with cool water. 

TIL this is apparently a thing a lot of people do. Is it weird it seems that literally every Black person I polled at work insists on washing their chicken first? Granted, small sample size, but still. 
 

Even when I told them about actual food safety guidelines they still ridiculed me for not washing my meat and said they will never eat anything I cook. 😂

So how many of you fools do this?

The first 3 seasons are incredible. 

I’ve seen clips from later seasons and I think I can enjoy it for Ian and Mickey alone. 

Shameless is awesome. Just started watching recently and I’m halfway through season 2. 

I also reuse plastic bags in my small trash cans. I typically use the reusable bags for groceries and decline bags when I'm just going in a store to grab one or two things but when I'm running low on bags I'll do a grocery run without the reusables.

At least he acknowledges how disgusting he was toward me before. The behavior has improved to a degree, but he still can't handle when a woman calls him out so it's probably for the best he has me on ignore. I just don't really fool with him anymore. He's not worth it.

Greg Iles new book just released and Amazon got my copy to me a day early. Called Southern Man and I'm loving it so far. It's a long one, almost 1000 pages.

Also been reading Revenge of the Betrayer by Peter Gibbons and The Forgotten 500 Gregory A Freeman. But Southern Man will probably be my priority for now.

That's what they do. Games that should be very winnable and they just flop. It's frustrating to watch. This was a nailbiter, but they showed grit and didn't quit. They need that.

Finished Hello Beautiful last night. Today I’m starting Those We Thought We Knew by David Joy. 

None of it ever appealed to me. Wish I could partake in marijuana, but it’s not worth the risk to my career. 

I could be more ambitious, go into management, get my master’s, something like that. But I just don’t want the added responsibility. I make good money, husband makes good money, I get to work 3 shifts a week and have a good bit of free time. Out mortgage is paid off and we have zero debts and sock away a good bit for early retirement. 
 

if I’m coasting, I’m okay with it. I like my life. 

I’m up to 3 now, but two of them don’t post here anymore.
