So as long as we don’t get another dumbass warmonger for president (big if) I don’t see this war happening. The consequences would be catastrophic for the whole world and a lot of money would disappear overnight. It would be an incredibly unpopular conflict.

Yes.

Japan is such an excellent candidate for controlled immigration with its marvelous transportation infrastructure. In the US you see little rust belt towns all over being reinvigorated by new manufacturing, and a lot of these jobs go to Mexicans and inner city blacks. But you don’t see anything like that in Japan. Once you get away from the glitz and glamour of the major cities, there is a sizable chunk of old industrial and port land just dotted with little dying towns. Capitalism just doesn’t work without population growth, natural or foreign born.

Ya know the end result of capitalism is that every single job is automated or shipped overseas and we are forced to transition into the world’s largest welfare state to maintain our quality of life or just wither away into some kind of Western India but either way it’s not sustainable 

I couldn’t even begin to do IT or programming, but god dammit I was building desktop towers and designing levels for Jedi Knight in the 5th grade.
