How many people are actually struggling vs just have bad vibes because their incomes went up but supermarket prices did too?

As someone who works at a grocery store and deals DIRECTLY with the prices, I’ve seen lots of fluctuation.

It’s honestly difficult to gauge but I feel like at Giant prices have remained pretty steady.

The verdict for the first debate is out and democrats tend to think that Biden won, republicans think Trump was the victor, and independents were watching reruns of Friends on syndication and were unmoved in either direction

I keep saying people underestimated the effect the first debate in 2020 had on voters.

Between being overly obnoxious and irrational, saying “stand back and stand by” to white supremacists, getting called a clown by Biden as well being told to shut up by him, then attacking Hunter Biden’s drug use which basically nullified four years of him saying he cared about drugs getting into the suburbs and hurting mothers’ sons… he pissed off a lot of people that night.

Either one can still back out. I think the odds that these debates happen at all is a 50/50 shot at best.

I would love to see a energetic smart informed good communicator debate with trump.

Biden was painful to watch in a. debate 4 years ago and he hasn't gotten any more spry. Neither has trump.

This is going to sound like 2 senile old people at an old folks home arguing about politics.

    What??

Biden came off great at their first debate. He got so many good one liners in at Trump that pissed him off.

You’ve been hate watching too much right wing media.

Kinda surprised by this. I was operating under the assumption that Trump was going to find a reason to back out of even the normal 3 debate commission ones. I think it's absolutely a mistake for Trump to do this, because as much as Biden can come across like a doddering old man sometimes, Trump's brain is absolute soup at this point and does not have anywhere near the ability to command an audience that he had in 2016.

Oh, Trump’s definitely going to back out considering that neither of the two agreed upon debates are going to be on Fox News.

This will receive a 30 minute-long standing ovation at Cannes, during which Martin Scorsese will resolutely declare that "THIS IS UNAMBIGOUS END-STATE OF CINEMA AND I CAN NOW DIE HAPPILY" at which point he will keel over and die while the applause continues.

Will it look like this death?

Yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed season 1 a lot. Thought it would be terrible but they were able to write a real story out of a bunch of world building. Not a perfect season but some people's vitriol online towards it is unwarranted.

But The Hobbit movie trilogy being Star Wars prequels level bad will always be a crazy take to me. The Star Wars prequels have terrible camera work (walking and talking, sitting and talking, a two shot back and forth of faces for most of all three movies), terrible acting, dialogue, etc. The Hobbit movie trilogy has flaws but they are genuinely wonderfully acted, the filmmaking is a million times better than most of the Star Wars prequel scenes (save for two lightsaber fights), there's at least heart and soul in parts (love when the dwarves sing in the first movie), etc. There's just no comparison.

I think people should look at it less like an adaptation of The Hobbit alone and look at it more like: "The Hobbit, and also a bunch of fun connective tissue fan service scenes we'll probably never have gotten to see otherwise in live-action".

    Agreed.

The Hobbit trilogy’s biggest flaw for me is the overuse of CGI and the tying it to the Lord of the Rings. Otherwise, it’s now part of my yearly watch of the movies.

I remember early on checking that place out just to see it, and once I saw all the high level enemies, and all the gloom it was an immediate NOPE.

I tried to AVOID all the enemies, going as far as to use an ancient arrow on the silver Lynel. Once I got to the first official battle against the army, I reloaded my previous save before I made the trek.

I want the best armor and gloom meals before I even seriously attempt it.

Today in 2016 Clinton was up 10% in Michigan, 7% in PA, and 11% in WI, and 3 in NC. She lost all these states. In 2020 polling on this day in these states had him with half the lead of Clinton and Biden won all of these states(minus nc, whatever), though it was close.

Polling means less than nothing right now I really wish people would understand that. It’s all vibes right now and people aren’t really tuned in. To say nothing of the tens of millions of dollars going towards legal defense and not campaigning and organization across swing states if it’s down to the margins as many suspect I’d much rather be Biden than Trump.

What was the polling in 2020 around this time?
