  1. The weird thing about Twitter is that I think the metrics can say one thing, while your feed is saying something else entirely. For instance, Musk keeps touting that there are fewer bots than ever, but whenever I look at replies for popular threads there are a TON of bots and spam posts high up the chains. I don't know that he's outright lying, but I think he's not representing the entire picture of the current state of the site truthfully.

I live pretty close to the border. There aren't any issues and Hispanic people are very friendly. I'd gladly bring in some more of then and throw Best over the fence.

I too live close to the border and dare I say it is one of my favorite things about living in San Diego. I think it makes the city a much better place to live. It's also great to be able to drive into Mexico for their amazing food and culture pretty much whenever I want.

A reporter on CNN just said that intel from Law enforcement is telling them that Human Trafficking cartels are using Abbot's buses as a selling point to Migrants on the other side of the border. Also these folks being bussed (at least from Texas) are here legally as asylum seekers. This is gonna blow up in these clowns' faces so bad.

How? I mean the rank and file GOP member is hooting and hollering that their governors are doing this. Illegal Immigration is also something that I think alot of moderate democrats (the ones I know at least) are against.

Personally, I fucking hope it backfires. This shit is disgusting and the people that laugh about it are fucking gross as well, but I have zero confidence in this blowing up in their faces.

    Yo what the fuck:

This type of story feels like the type of story that is set out like a banana peel for Democrats to slip on when what they have in the hand is already repugnant enough to matter for most clear minded people. If you try to link this with the raid and it turns out to not be true, this is what they will point to over and over when downplaying what is already confirmed.

Yeah i edited my post to include San Diego. Great place to go for a weekend and drink but I was surprised how Red it is down there.

The fact that there are multiple bases down here means that you'll always have to support the military, but the current composition of San Diego Government is pretty Blue. Democratic Mayor, city council, board of supervisors, etc.SD also went 61-37 for Biden.

East County is absolutely Red and I walked past a yard sign in my neighborhood (I live in the mid-city area) that said #LetsGoBrandon, but on a whole this city is pretty Left-Leaning.

EDIT: I'm also watching the new conference and what a fucking joke. All about LEO and Mental Health. Nothing about access to guns, nothing about laws that he's pushing making it easier to get guns and overlook mental health problems of the people buying them. Nothing. Shit would make me sad, but he just passed the mic to Lt. Gov. Oh and there's a Beto O'Rourke sighting.

  6. I remain convinced that he's trying to tank the Twitter deal.

He's probably in direct violation of whatever pre-deal NDA that he's signed and he's just pressing forward and doing more and more outrageous stuff until he can get to a place where they let him off the hook or they offer it to him at a much cheaper share price than what he's agreed to pay. If this happens  he may move forward, but I kind of doubt it even then. Between TSLA being down 45% ytd and the Twitter board trying to get him to honor the share price he made the deal for initially, the purchase may not be feasible for him anymore.

  7. This isn't the same thing but your gestational age includes approximately 2 weeks where neither egg nor sperm have met. It also includes the 2-5 day period of pre implantation.  So could they make a law prosecuting any woman that is just attempting unsuccessfully to get pregnant? Are they gonna start investigating chemical pregnancy losses for women/couples that get overzealous and post the faint positives only to miscarry 2 days later? I don't know but they are leaving a bunch of stuff up to interpretation and they seem to be legislating from a place that is wholly ignorant of how doctors look at gestation.

This 1000% as someone who has dealt with this twice.

So everybody else can fuck off with their BS hypothetical discussion points.

Hey, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I hope you've found a way to get some closure/healing around it.

  9. The one thing I learned from my personal experience with choosing to terminate a very much wanted pregnancy for medical reasons, it is so much more common than you could imagine. Getting news at your 20 week anatomy scan that the child you very much want to have and have been fighting to have for years, either isn't viable, or is likely to lead a severely difficult life, starts this insane countdown clock in which you have to make a decision before you get to 23 weeks and it becomes much more difficult to get an abortion; even in a "uber liberal" state like California. So you're running around from specialist to specialist, pulling strings and calling in favors to get bumped to the front of the list for specialists and even then you feel like you're making the decision with a gun to your head.

And once you do it, I cannot tell you how many people will send you a private message or pull you aside and tell you something like that happened to them. It's purely anecdotal but for those limited times that it happens, people in difficult positions deserve to not be treated like monsters and should be free to make those completely unwanted, absolutely soul-crushing decisions.

Our backup plan for our baby is we have breast milk from after my wife getting her booster shot and if anyone catches the Rona we’re busting that shit out

    still covid free

I'm actually in a similar situation right now. We have a 3 week old at home and my wife hasn't been boosted just yet. Once she is boosted and the baby gets fed from milk post-booster shot, do you know how long that protection lasts?

Are you saying that freezing it and feeding it to him after an exposure will give him extra protection that he wouldn't get just in the natural course of nursing post-booster?

  11. Is it a fairly new thing to have Countries basically issuing press releases about the weapons they are giving to opposition countries during the cold war? One of my favorite films is Charlie Wilson's War and it seemed like we had to jump through hoops to ensure that any weapons we gave supplied the Afghans in their war against Russia could not be traced back to us. Now, we make Twitter posts about what we're giving Ukraine.

It just seems weird. But then again, maybe I'm wrong and these things have always been highly publicized.
