You know, it's not Shania Law, but it's close enough. I'll take what I can these days.

So, I ended up buying it. Got it at CyberpowerPC (place I bought my last one). It's a nice system, but I won't see it for a while due to how long their turn around always ends up being.

I wouldn't have a problem with a company advertising on Fox News, but I'd have serious problems with any company advertising on this guy's program or Sean Hannity's program. Both are adventures in cesspoolism.
Actually, add the blonde doofus girl who gets quoted all the time for just being stupid, racist and stupid.

While video games are in no way removed from politics, they are perhaps the worst medium in the entertainment biz for making a political statement on current afairs.
Games just take too damn long to make. Outlets that choose to grade tittles on their ability to draw parallels to modern trends are basically weighting their scores on the ability of developers to predict and provide commentary on the future.
Unfortunately with a lot of reviews I’ve read that talk politics this context is completely lost. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good discussion to have, but it requires a degree of objectivity on the reviewer’s part that frequently doesn’t exist.
Yeah, I can definitely see that. So much time goes into creating a game that I'd be shocked if someone developed something political, knowing that.

I follow a bunch of computer game reviewers on Youtube, which as you may all know is it's own circle of hell once you've experienced it in all of its glory. But one thing I've started to notice is that a lot of conservative game reviewers claim that there's a certain bias to reviews that is basically pro-liberal (or the infamous term of SJW). One of the reviewers I really like is one of those, and he's been going through a huge battle with those on the opposite side of the political spectrum as he argues that they shouldn't be arguing against him because he's just reviewing about games without bias and...well, you get the idea that it leads into a whole backlash sort of things that goes kind of nuts.
Personally, I like the reviewer, but I'm not sure I buy his argument that game reviews are all SJW types of reviews. Am I just not seeing this?
Okay, sound ground rules, at least: Let's avoid arguing about the political bent of reviews (which goes down a cesspool of ridiculousness), but I'm curious if people here are actually finding reviews to be more political than just straight out reviews. I haven't really seen this, unless perhaps this is something that's mainly reflective in Youtube reviewers (and I've not seen this because I'm just not subscribing to those types of reviewers). I get most of my reviews from published sites (or magazines), so I kind of wonder if there's a political bent that only happens in interactive media. I do see a lot of that in the comments sections, but I've come to realize that you get a lot of junk in that kind of stuff, so I generally don't read too much of that.
Your thoughts?
(Keep in mind, I thought about putting this in the CEB part of the boards, but that area is mainly about actual politics and this actually involves gaming.)

Yes, we are now required to use Stick Figures. Sorry, it's the law.

I assume you want 4k 60fps or close to 60fps

Thanks. Any preference from one to the other? The one thing I thought of adding (to both) is at least 32 RAM at 3200 instead of 3000. Think most of the rest I thought was pretty decent. I tried configuring one with them earlier but kept getting crappy systems at way overpriced amounts; both of those look a lot nicer, although I'm torn between both configurations.

I'm dumb on this one, how exactly is the ACA supposedly unconstitutional?
Basically, the changes that the Trump Administration forced onto it now puts it into a condition that is not what the ACA originally was supposed to be, so the administration's argument is, of course, that now it's not constitutional cause they made it break the rules (part of it has to do with the precondition mandate). It's a really stupid run around that is being argued for how "brilliant" it is.

I'm just upset that she never ONCE tried to "indoctrinate" me.

Needs Supreme Court to address it again. Sad that this keeps happening, but that's why we have a Supreme Court. It's the same thing when California decides to set standards for the rest of the country. Just cause it's a good idea doesn't make it Constitutional.

Politicians suck. That hasn't changed.

I bought my last one through CyberpowerPC, and it was generally okay. I had some recent problems with it (had it over a year, so didn't really panic that much). And yeah, I could probably fix it if I wanted to spend a ton of time trying to diagnose and figure out what it is doing. Basically, it started making sounds like it was calling for Emus to attack, so after all of the Emus attacked, I turned off the computer. I then opened it up, ran it for a bit, and then it started up again about a few hours later (the Emu attack sound). I figure it's either a fan going nuts (although I can't seem to locate it) or my video card's engine just went nuts (and possibly its fan as well).
So, rather than try to figure it out, I'm just thinking of treating myself and getting a brand new system. I figure I have about 4k to spend (if needed), so would love to see some ideas from you all. I kind of want to have something I can get soon, rather than later, and I really don't want to have a bunch of parts delivered to me and then having to install them all. Yeah, I know that's cheaper, but I've made too many systems in my time and just don't feel like going through the work again.
Up until I get one, I have a pretty awesome Alienware laptop, but while my laptop was kind of nice, and I'd like to move from 2017 to 2018-9 now.

In the old days, I used to be able to eat pretty much everywhere and it was really affordable. They've changed all that now as they realized there was a profit in ripping off people for food prices while they're losing their money on everything else.

Yep, I've kinda had to check out a little bit for my sanity. I unfriended/unfollowed a lot of people on FB, been on FB less in general, and cut back on my news consumption. Been reading books, playing games, watching baseball and some TV shows and it's helped my overall mood.
Probably not a bad idea. Wish I was that smart.

Hey all. I started something new with my Youtube site (was mainly focused on politics, writing tips and various off topics), so I decided to create my first parody commercial. Curious what you all might think about it (as I don't really converse with a whole lot of other boards aside from here).
It's called The Yarn Initiative, it's pretty short, and it's here:

Trying to avoid Adobe Premiere, so anything else would help. I currently have Adobe Premiere Elements, and its options for working with my videos really sucks. So, looking for something that tries to pretend to be Adobe Premiere but doesn't cost an arm and a leg, or wants me to pay them monthly.

So, I started making videos on my Youtube channel (no, not advertising for it, so this is not that kind of thread), and I have to say that practically every obstacle to doing this has jumped right in front of me. My web cam died about five minutes into filming. So, I had to find my other web cam in my closet (the one next to Pence and Ingraham, who are deciding which one comes out of the closet first), set it up and managed exactly one video (my introduction video). Then I went to do my second video last night, and for some reason it just turned stupid and the sound wouldn't sync with the video so that it looked like I had filmed a bad 1970s VCR tape. So, had to buy a new one that I won't get from Amazon until next week.
So, I had a really dumb question for those of you who do vlogs and informational Youtube videos: How do you get people to even notice it? I've discovered Facebook sucks as people are really good at "liking" your announcement but aren't that good at actually watching them. Granted, I'm not trying to get 100,000s of views, but how do people get started and maintain enough to make it feel worth it?

That sucks about that bug! I've been fortunate that the only bugs I've encountered have been fixable.
It wouldn't have been significant enough for me to care about but I went through SO MUCH work to get that freighter. Having to do it again and rely on their random generator to get something like it again just seemed like Everest before me.

That's every industry. Movie awards just have famous people at them so we care.
Not sure what you're arguing against. I was pointing out why they changed their mind, They were first thinking of including us all in their vote and then realized they never really wanted us to be a part of it.

The funny thing is: I was thinking of doing something similar a few weeks back, but then realized it would take too much work to continue trying to think that way, so I just decided to watch a bunch of ASMR videos instead.
I'm not surprised people actually think that way. That's why the retard got elected in the first place. Conspiracy theories are running rampant right now, and they're only getting worse. I just heard someone SERIOUSLY trying to convince this girl that 911 was an inside job, orchestrated by the hidden Jewish controllers. The guy was freaking serious, and I was half tempted to step in before I realized how arguing with stupid is one of the more worthless things you can do in any moment of your life.
