Ok, I think I'm getting a better handle on how things work. I'm pretty sure that I do have the Shadowkeep story available to me, as well as a few "legacy" quest lines. Is it worth doing any of them? All of them? Is there any particular order to do them in?

    Red War

    Curse of Osiris

    Warmind

    Forsaken

    Shadowkeep

  2. I got this for the kids after they are seeing it on youtube.  It has been fun and i've joined them playing it.  It is nice you can change the difficulty and repeat the levels for better gear.  I seem to have the worst RNG, cause both my kids have had epic? gear drop multiple times for them and I have seen none.

There are a few glitches here and there but overall not too bad.

My biggest gripe is no online couch co op. Would love to play a 4 player game with my online buddies while still playing couch co op. Mojang when is this gonna happen!?!

Are you playing on PS4?  I wonder if you can do share play to get around it.

Just out of curiosity what made it a slog for you?

FYI iam not trying pick an argument, people love what they love and hate what they hate.

this is all going by memory from PS3 days so its kinda hazy but from what I remember it felt like they forced you to play stealth and in the beginning of the game it was not fun at all.  It was fine in the city, then I felt it got progressively worse once the enemies got harder with better equipment while you were still picking up bricks and bottles lol.   I was constantly getting killed from being seen and having to restart encounters from situations I felt were unfair and it put me off from playing it.  Also the story in the beginning was very slow paced and really predictable.  It might not have helped when you keep hearing from friends how good the story is yet i'm waiting this whole time for it to get good.  It's like when someone tells you to watch some show and you're watching it and waiting forever to see why people like it so much but it never does for you.  Only to hear later it gets really good on S3 ep 15...but you have to slog through two seasons of mediocrity to get there.  I am glad i took that person's advice to play to give it a try again on easy, cause it was one of the best zombie themed stories i've experienced so far.

The Last of Us is another one, but I don't think it's bad so much as just bland and not very fun.

I felt the same way with The Last of Us.  It started off really strong, then turned into a slog with really shitty combat mechanics where it completely put me off playing it.

I avoided it for years while people scoffed at me for not playing it cause I felt the game was not fun at all.   One day at work TLOU topic came up and I was surprised there was someone there that felt the same way as me on the game that everyone else revered.  He told me he agreed the gameplay itself is shit but the story is amazing, but the story doesn't get good until you reach Bill.  So he told me put the game on easy and just play it for the story and I did.  Now I realized why people loved it so much cause the story was epic, but gameplay i still find meh that I would never replay the game.

Wait what was the purpose of the physical copy again?

Easiest and best solution is an all digital world.

I try to buy physical for any Nintendo games because the resale value of them tend to be high.

All others digital unless I am getting a game on sale.

I have a friend that only buys physical cause he knows he is not going to revisit a game after he beats it, so he resells them on Ebay.  He has also bought used games on Ebay and resold them back at the same price he bought it for a month or so later.  It's honestly a smart way if you're gaming budget is limited.  I'm just too lazy to do any of the work to save a few bucks.

@eggydoo thanks so much. Thought I had way more turnips to unload but turned out I only had a few extra in my upstairs room, lol. Still made a very nice profit. love the layout of your wife's village. And why does everyone seem to have cooler villagers than me

NP it's not the 600ish price people typically look for but still decent price.  But yeah majority of the residents is a bunch of people that like to workout.  It's kind of funny it ended up that way.

Bit further in, game definitely needs some clean up, lots of hang ups on actions where nothing will happen for a good 30 seconds or longer, and theres a pretty high chance the game will crash when enemy reinforcements enter.

what are you playing on? cause I have not experienced this....

I do see occasional hang up, but its literally like 1-2 seconds for me and only happens when it switches to next unit's turn.  Only weird animation bug i've seen so far is when an enemy panics and shoots, you don't see the gun shoot but you see the person they shot at take dmg.

  8. Thinking better turn into buying before all the scalpers get their hands on the new inventory that just arrived at stores unless you want to pay $500-$600 for a switch.  I know Target has them in stock and have restricted online scalpers at least.  Hopefully you find one.

The game has quite a few setting before you start to help tweak difficulty. For instance, you can decide to have your team fully, half or not healed after a mission. It definitely feels more welcoming to new people so far. Could be a great entry point for people intimidated by this type of game.

Thanks for the quick look! Reminds me of mario rabbids.  Can add extra hp before each mission to make it easier for the kiddos.  Installing the game now but its taking a bit to dl from steam for such a small game.

Then, the did that PS3 tech demo further fanning the flames.

ooh yeah i completely forgot about that

With that, does KH3 count then?  They've had so many stupid versions between 2 and 3, it felt like 3 would never come out til it did.

Games of huge franchises (Last Guardian falls under Ico/Shadow of the Colossus) that were/are supposed to be coming and then disappeared and have basically become a meme/joke.

So far I don’t feel like anything mentioned meets the level from the 4 in the OP. Unannounced things that people would freak out about don’t fall under this. :p

With that I disagree FF7 should make the list then.  Square never said they would remake it til recently when they actually did remake a portion of it lol.  It was only fanboys that kept screaming to remake it.
