Probably didn’t matter but you love to see cutting corners on bridges
Question is what are they going to do now? Rebuild the bridge using the existing schematics and towers, or go for a new design? Either option will take years and at least a billion $.

Why were those 8 still on the bridge if there was a mayday called? Did they not have enough time to get off? -
The entire Port of Baltimore is blocked. No cargo is getting in and out until the debris is cleared, and that won’t happen until search and rescue operations are complete. Product availability’s gonna take a hit for quite a while.

I feel for everyone who will have to commute through 95/895 for the next few months because of this incident.
Looks like the ship was dealing with power failures before hitting the bridge

Colorado doesn't require you to live in the district you're running in?
Nope, just have to live in the state to run for any district. -

She is planning to run for his seat in November. She can’t take part in the special election for the remainder of his current term because she is still the rep for District 3. She would have to resign first and then run, and that would drop the Republican majority immediately to 1 until the special election happens.- 1

Biden to announce US will build port on Gaza shore for large-scale aid delivery | Israel-Gaza war | The Guardian
WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM
President to make announcement in State of the Union speech while senior US official says ‘We are not waiting on the Israelis’How the hell do you build a port with troops to build it and provide security?
You know what would be better? Actually pressuring Israel to allow aid trucks to pass through and withholding aid and weapon shipments until they do. Actually putting more and more political pressure on a government that is already deeply unpopular with their population.
But, nah. Let’s do everything except that and try every rule in the book to continue to send weapons and aid while bypassing Congress.

I’m sure shooting at starving people rushing for aid is going to help free the hostages.

An active duty US soldier set himself on fire yesterday in front of the Israeli embassy as a protest against the genocide. He died of his injuries. While he was burning he yelled "Free Palestine."
Police response involved one guy trying to put him out with a fire extinguisher and another guy pointing a gun at him yelling "get on the ground."
I wonder if another guy told him to “freeze”.

The fact that posting the article generated a bunch of new activity trying to pick it apart but absolute silence regarding what Hamas did says everything.
Considering that you and TUFKAK and Spork have discussed that in this thread is proof that there is no absolute silence in this matter.

But you’re Jewish, right? Why is criticism against Israel considered an attack against the Jewish people? It’s either you support Israel or you are antisemitic.

Did you not read the article? There's actual Anti Jewish sentiment right now, not anti Israel.
There definitely is, but the ADL considers criticism of Israel to be antisemetic. Equating protests against Israel in the same vein as antisemetism skews those numbers up

I’m sorry that you think criticizing Israel is considered an attack on your people. Tell me what country is given this same kind of protection from many people in our government. Because God forbid we say anything bad about Israel or criticize how they treat a group of people that they routinely arrest and bomb the living hell out of.

I don’t necessarily believe that being opposed to Israel is the same thing is being anti-Semitic. Clearly lots of VERY anti-Semitic people can also be very pro-Israel.Many of them are. The same woman who talked about “Jewish space lasers” is suddenly “concerned” about antisemitism. And a lot of those chuds who support a leading Republican idiot for President were waving Nazi flags not too long ago.
