Travel advisories are political, always and forever. The nominal risk of dangerous treatment for any member of a minority group in Florida is marginally different than California, as an example.
You can quite safely spend a week and many thousands at Disney World or Universal as you please.
I dunno I receive much different treatment here than I did when I lived in the DC area. -
It must be frustrating being one of Trump's lawyers. Try as can to keep his mouth shut about previous lawsuits and he simply won't listen, digging himself even deeper. And on top of that they don't even get paid.

I am curious how all of the terrible news coming out of Florida is affecting tourism to the state. For the longest time Florida had the reputation of being a fun place to visit but not necessarily the best place to live, but now many are fearing stepping one foot here.

I may be cynical on whether Florida can be change but but I should remind those who think this is a complete waste the the mayoral election in Jacksonville was recently won by a Democrat woman. Her opponent was endorsed by DeSantis and Republicans even had a bigger turnout by 3 percentage points. Her opponent’s loss is a sign that independents are turning on DeSantis, especially after the six week abortion banned.

Didn't even realize they had a documentary on Howard Ashman but I'm totally watching this when I get the chance.
That's part of the problem with these streaming exclusives. Some of them are properly marketed but most of them are just dumped on the services with little fanfare. Of course these things are gonna bomb if those who would normally be interested are completely unaware they exist.

Should I just make a separate thread and post it in The Shower?
I still feel weird asking for money but if it would be easier logistically I can just make a gofundme myself and post it in that thread.

Majora's Mask is still my favorite because it remains unmatched in terms of tone and atmosphere. Breath of the Wild is a close second because of its exploration and discovery but Tears of the Kingdom may overtake it soon.

There have been signs that centrists have turned on DeSantis and the Biden campaign likely has access to private poll numbers that show it's winnable. I'm sure it's within the realm of possibilities but unfortunately I'm just too far cynical these days to be hopeful.

Excellent, my wife would like to donate, also! PayPal is possible between Canada and the US, but mine is deactivated.
Do you have any plans at the moment of where you would like to go, and an actual roadmap of what you need to do to leave?
I've been doing research on states that have actual laws that protect trans people, I have a handful of options thankfully. But leaning towards Chicago because Illinois is trans friendly and I already have friends who live there.
Up until recently my roadmap had me moving next summer but within the past month I've been questioning if that's too far off. I honestly don't know how much worse things will get within a year and it worries me that it won't be soon enough. If I have the means to move sooner I will absolutely do so, and currently revising my roadmap to try and get out of here by the end of the year if possible.

@Kamusha - have you decided which approach you'd like us to take?
Let's make a gofundme because that seems like the easiest method for everyone who wants to help.

I unfortunately can't use venmo in Canada, so a gofundme would be the only way to donate. However, there are privacy concerns as mentioned above, and my contribution would likely be relatively small compared to some!
Would PayPal be a good alternative for our Canadian users? I was leaning towards posting my Venmo and Cash App but I can send my PayPal to those who can't use those methods.

Collaborators always think they're somehow special from the rest of their marginalized group and won't be sent to the camps and be killed like the rest, as if history hasn't proven this false time and time again. It'd be sad if what they're doing wasn't so harmful, instead, they need to be stopped.

Not since the fall of Quibi have I found a failing business venture to be so hilarious.

Never fell in love with Succession like everyone else but I am so on board for another season of Gemstones.

I would assume based on the titles that they are pulling shows that didn't perform particularly well so they are trying their best to make an extra buck out of them at least.

Watched today's episode and wow do I love this show. It's a show that doesn't reveal all it's cards for the longest time but the more that's revealed the more the show's thematics become apparent. The present days scenes are important because this isn't just a survival show, but about the lingering aftermath that such an intense situation would cause for the survivors. This is why the present day stuff is interesting to me. I love gradually learning just how fucked up these characters have become.
It's quite obvious by now that there is at least some sort of supernatural element involved, but I love that's it's up to the viewer to what extent. It's clearly Twin Peaks inspired and I hope it has learned one that show's strongest lessons by keeping the supernatural stuff as mysterious as they can. Over explaining this would tip the show.

I'll leave it to your preference as it comes down to what you're comfortable with from a privacy perspective.
I'm comfortable sharing my cashapp and venmo as this is a relatively small community.

Something feels missing ever since Paul Walker died. He truly was the glue that held together the family. There is virtually no comradery and familial vibe anymore, except maybe between Luda and Tyreese. Even though I enjoyed Fate more than most they really should have wrapped it up with 7. Maybe I'm feeling the loss of Chris Morgan because I did not like F9 at all.

I don't believe for a second that Wheatley is going to phone this is but I have the suspicion that he'll be approaching this more as a job rather than a pure vision of artistic expression. Which is totally fine. For a director like him you make these type of blockbusters because it'll make it easier for him to fund his smaller passion films. I'm sure he'll still do his best to make the best possible version of a big dumb blockbuster.

I have to say that this trailer plays in front of movie I see now and it holds up well on multiple viewings, especially on the big screen. Reluctantly I am hyped.

Did really nobody see this? This movie fucking slaps so hard. It's more in line with the funhouse tone of Evil Dead 2 than anything else, though with a little less Looney Tunes energy. It's equal parts campy, creepy, and fun. I had a blast seeing this with an audience that was laughing and screaming along with me. Don't sleep on this!!

If you think "who cares" (as you logically should), you should remember that she is the "I can't be racist because I have a black friend" person for conservative talking heads. She can be incredibly destructive.
Pull up the ladder from under you, you shifty cunt.
She, Buck White, and Blair White are the Candace Owens of trans people. If you're part of a minority group that is actively being opressed by Republicans it is so easy to make a buck telling right wingers what they want to hear.
It's sad really. They can suck up to conservatives all they want but they'll still get sent to the camps with everyone else if Republicans had their way.

My buddy in Jacksonville said this is NOT going over well locally. A DeSantis backed Republican for mayor of Jacksonville just lost in an upset. Ron DeSantis is going to flame out spectacularly.
What's crazy about the mayor race here is that Republicans had a +3.2 or something in turnout but it the Democrat still won by a few points. The election was decided by independents, who didn't seem to truly turn on DeSantis until this year. The 6 week abortion bill really woke a lot of people up, and the Disney news only escalating makes him look so bad.
The mayoral election was also a reaction to the last Republican mayor who was involved in a huge scandal as he tried to sell our local power company. But the DeSantis backlash is certainly a huge factor.

A huge gay scene isn’t really gonna protect you from a police force that now has a slew of new anti LGBT laws that they will feel emboldened to enforce. Cities with huge minority populations still have issues with racist law enforcement.
