Any word on this? I'm curious as well...  is it true the shooter was impersonating an RCMP Officer?

Yes, apparently he purchased an old cop car and repainted it/decaled it to look like an active one, and he had a uniform as well. That would explain why he could potentially get close to a lot of people.

Psychopathic intent to hurt and kill others.  I don't think there's any other way of explaining the motive.

I can confirm that the mobile port doesn't have any slowdown. The PSN version, I believe, is the original Tactics, not War of the Lions (well, you can get it on PSN, but it'll only play on PSP).

The PSN version does have WotL, and requires either a PSP or Vita to play it.  Last time I had it on my Vita it still lagged.  I'm actually surprised and disappointed this never got patched.

The only problem is it isn't The War of the Lions version, which is immensely better than the original PS1 version. It has an excellent mobile port which I played it on (and I don't usually game on phones). So much so I would never recommend anyone play Tactics again if it isn't The War of the Lions version.

You can emulate PSP games on PC now though, so I recommend playing The War of the Lions version that way for the best experience. Like with other emulators, you can greatly improve the graphics, framerate, etc. as well. If I were to ever play the original FF7 again, I'd play it via PC emulation for sure (or the "official" PC version with mods I guess).

AND PLEASE REMEMBER TO PATCH OUT THE SHITTY SLOWDOWN FROM THE PSP VERSION.

Oh god, if the slowdowns were patched in the PSN version..

  4. And the only time Biden fucking showed up in media decrying the Navy Captain's firing, and back into the fucking bunker hole until November.

Yeah, I don't even care enough.  I vote, Trump wins.  I don't vote, Trump wins. Do anything, Trump wins.  Do nothing, Trump wins.

Covid-19 please fucking kill Trump, before he, Xiping, or Putin kills everyone.

But it isn't just FF as I posted earlier. I have done similar things with KH and ME. "I think you should just play it and have fun," is fucking stupid when I don't like what is happening.

"Wow I sure don't like getting stabbed."

"I think you should just accept it and enjoy it."

"Wow I sure don't like the taste of X."

"I think you should just eat it and like it."

So my company just had a managers meeting and the decision was essentially to prevent working from home as much as possible. My company has a long history of complete mistrust of employees. The prevailing sentiment from the top is basically "if we don't see them at their desk, how do we know they're working?" It's so odd to me. Presumably everyone has a job because they do something, right? And presumably if that work wasn't done, it would be noticed, yeah? This isn't a giant company. In this particular office there are ~40 people. Most of them work in very small teams. It wouldn't take long to notice someone completely slacking.

A shocking amount of our work revolves around actual paper files, so I understand it wouldn't be very easy for us to move to a 100% remote work force starting Monday, but that's not what I was expecting. I was expecting a more lenient or flexible work from home policy. Maybe some discussion about how we can accommodate that and what steps need to be taken, etc. Instead the meeting was basically to say "it will be business as usual, but with more hand sanitizer."

If this meeting happened last Friday, nothing would have surprised me, but having it today, after a national emergency was declared, schools in our county just got canceled, and everything else going on, just seemed completely oblivious to reality. It doesn't really even affect me, since I can mostly work from home whenever I want anyways.

I'm still going to work under the assumption that most of the company will be working from home in relatively little time.

Start coughing intentionally in front of employees, especially the bosses.

So, I have a question for everyone here:

What do you tell the family in your life that is 65+? Especially those that are 80+? I’ve got a few grand parents / great uncles or whatever that are clearly in the group that are most at risk. One the one hand, I feel like their limited activity is what is keeping them alive. On the other hand, I feel like I should tell them not to go to their weekly pottery class or whatever.

    Good riddance.

  8. The FF7 Remake demo is leaving really conflicted as a whole. Not only am I expecting to play an incomplete game, but there are some changes with the narrative that will not leave the same impact as the original game. It is a game that is spiritually attempting to be FF7 but not FF7 at the same time. And that leaves me really concerned.

Aside from that, the camera issues with the demo is really atrocious, and the movement is really stiff at times. I don't even recall the camera and action was this janky in FF15. Those two are my biggest complaints so far in this demo.
