  1. I presented this question to my son and reminded of one of the last missions on Metal Gear Solid 5 where you have to fight waves of enemies at this abandoned building and it's really on the borderline of  frustratingly hard. That mission alone would prevent me from putting this game in a hard mode in a future play thru.

Lemme tell y'all a great story about the last valk:

I lost to her 128490182490182391.384001 times my first playthrough of the game, right? I finally, FINALLY got her down to a sliver of health, but I also was down to a sliver of health.

She used some big fire attack which I dodged, and then I attacked her and the BUTTON PROMPT appeared, meaning all I had to do was go up to her, press one button, and I'd finish her.

As I approached her, I stepped over the fire on the ground from her attack.

I didn't know it actually hurt you. I thought it was there for show after the attack.

That took away the last of my health.

    I died.

    GTFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really wish i had the willpower to be good at these games again. I used to thrive on doing the same track over and over, perfecting every turn and line. But i'm old now. I need games that will forgive me when i fuck up lol.

Could not have said it any better.

  4. What is a difficult portion or rage inducing part of a game in modern gaming for you?

I thought of this due to me restarting the career mode in WWE2k18. When I bought the game at launch last year I went straight into the story mode and I played the role of the good guy which put me in the number one spot (out of 30) to enter the Royal Rumble . Would make for a great defining moment in the story's progression if 2k games didn't make it FREAKING impossible to complete. I tired my best not to rage out and toss/break anything. Luckily I didn't but after a number of times, the most I could get to was the 16th entrant and my character would just be too exhausted to continue and also the AI tends to focus on you probably more than it should making it even worse. Adding insult to injury, by the time you get to the Royal Rumble, ones character is still weakly developed at this point in the story as a newcomer. Many players have not gotten past that portion of the game judging by various forums I've visited. 2k got a complaint from each week for months about it. Anyway I decided to fire up the game last week, make a new character and try to be on the side of the management to get a better entry number which was 27. Excellent! Wrong!!!!!!!! Not only do I have to win which is relatively doable but I have to get a 4 star rating which makes it dangerous and hard as hell to still complete. This was probably the first time in years I've spent hours on one damn portion of a game cause I came so close to beating it and my mind just could not accept defeat because I feel I am damn fucking good at wrestling games as I have been since the NES days. After 3 hours, I finally did it.

Even though I did it, that portion was ridiculously stupid hard especially when I play these games for the story mode than anything nowadays.

Do you have a modern game portion or just a game that just drove you crazy?

I'll see it soon myself and report back, but this is no surprise that the story rushes through things. It's a tough spot to be in and most movies never pick the best way to do it but Alita: Battle Angel is based on a 9 volume manga series (which has a 19 volume manga sequel series, which now has its own sequel manga series that is currently ongoing). So Battle Angel Alita (or Gunnm, as its known in Japan) has become this big, epic story that has gone way past its initial 9 volume story (which was epic in itself).

For the purposes of this film, the first 9 volume manga series is all that matters and it tells a full and complete story which was intended to end the entire story (the 19 volume sequel series came out 5 years after the first series ended, much later). Even with 9 volumes though, that's a lot of material to cover and it would take ideally 3 movies or more to cover; 1 film for every 3 volumes and I can say even then you are condensing things some (though action scenes take up a lot of manga pages but go quick in live-action or animated format which helps save time). I'll be curious to see just how much they condense and speed through things, as I just re-read the 9 volumes in preparation for the film. I know there's no way they can keep the hardcore violence that's in the manga (which is part of its point, but oh well) but I'd still like the rest translated over if possible.

That makes a lot of sense after seeing the film.
