For those who are unaware, David Cage and Quantic Dream are suing two French newspapers (Le Monde and Mediapart) over stories about the toxic workplace environment at the studio that they claim are defamatory in nature. Last week, the case was finally heard in a Paris court and let's just say that things don't appear to have gone particularly well for Cage & Co. Here's a translation of the an article in French that described the proceedings: I may not be a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure that asking the judge(s) if it's totally cool to lie because you're not under oath is probably not a particularly wise course of action. Oh, and one more note: Le Monde is essentially the French equivalent of the New York Times or the Washington Post so needless to say, I'm pretty sure that David and whatever law firm is representing him and QD are significantly overmatched.
