I'm seeing a bunch of bots in replies all of a sudden with nothing except login info and a URL of random numbers and letters. I have no idea what the scam actually is, all I know is the site feels more washed than ever. Feels like there's no semblance of moderation left.

The site just feels gross now. I had built a community of pharmacist friends and used it for some urbanism content but now I don’t even visit because it’s just spam ads, bots, and nasties saying the quiet parts out loud. It’s a shame, really.

Based on corporate profits, I don't see how greedflation can be denied by anyone.

We don’t have to look any further than the cost of a bag of Funyuns. $5.49?! Are you kidding me? I’d do anything to go back to the days where I thought $3.99 for a bag of onion-flavored air was expensive.

  3. I watched CNN religiously when the Ukrainian conflict reared its ugly head but as soon as that started to become “normal” in the news cycle it got boring, fast. Maybe I’m just not cut out for cable news (I’ve really never watched much of it outside of election nights) but maybe that is part of their problem. At least Fox keeps the inflammatory stuff going. Keeps the rage boner up.

  4. This years respiratory “tripledemic” is not surprising given the emerging evidence that COVID absolutely destroys our immune systems, even in mild to moderate infections. The arise of “long COVID” has been what’s scared me for the majority of the pandemic.

Immunological dysfunction persists for 8 months following initial mild-to-moderate SARS-CoV-2 infection

Immune dysregulation and immunopathology induced by SARS-CoV-2 and related coronaviruses — are we our own worst enemy?

  5. This virus-palooza has been quite the ride. An especially severe respiratory virus season combined with drug shortages have led to scenes just short of pure chaos in many pharmacies.

    Drugs currently on shortage:

    - beta-lactam antibiotics (amoxicillin, amoxicillin/clavulanate)

    - alternatives to the above (particular cefdinir)

    - oseltamivir (Tamiflu)

    - children’s formulations of Tylenol and Motrin

In short, things you never want to be without. Scary shit, man.

  6. I smoked for 10 years from the tail end of high school until just after I finished grad school. I have a lot of memories both good and bad that involve smoking, but as I’ve gotten older and begun to reconcile my choices with my mortality I don’t see any good in it. Or, I do the see the personal enjoyment I derived from it, but being unable to separate any good from the horrific adverse effects it can have on oneself and others makes it a no go. I’m here for this law. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Choices are nice, but not are choices are equally nice. There's a right to live, less so a right to kill. Tying an obvious social danger to market motivations and fighting back from the other end seems like a lot of effort for not much gain for the greater public.

What in the hell are you going on about? I feel like this is some secret language that I’m too dumb to understand.

Democrat Adam Frisch announced Friday that he had called GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert and conceded the race for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District.

The ONE race I tried to call and it didn’t work out. Ah well. She gets to keep enjoying being a side show freak.  This bodes well for the future if (when) she keeps up with her incessant screeching.

UPDATE: Democrat Adam Frisch is poised to upset Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert in CO-3, based on a 9NEWS analysis of remaining ballots, which are largely in counties where Frisch holds strong leads. #copolitics

The Boebert-Frisch race is tied 50-50% but the bulk of ballots yet to be counted, per AP, are in Pitkin County (80% counted, currently Frisch +58, not a typo), Pueblo County (91.6% counted, currently Frisch +9.6), and Garfield County (90% counted, currently Frisch +13.6).

  9. It’s awesome to see the wins for abortion rights all across the country. Even better to see Michigan leading the way with such expansive language in our proposal. I know this was a huge issue for the women in my life. I feel better knowing that they feel just a little bit safer in this state and country.
