I'm trying to do an honest run of Zelda, as I have never beaten it.  I've beaten every other true Zelda games, just never the original.  It actually holds up very well, especially after Breath of the Wild.

That's kind of how I feel like about Spider-Man. I think its visuals and story are carrying the boring gameplay forward. Reminds me of The Last of Us. I loved watching it, but hated playing it. 

Seems weird to play these on the big screen.

Update: Played it off and on for a good bit of today, just looking around and seeing what's what.  I've just bookmarked the Polygon map for the Shrines (because fuck waiting) and I'll dip back in again tomorrow.  

 

It does make me want a new handheld as I love gaming on a smaller screen (there's something about music/movie on in the background, whilst you game) so either I need to buy some new DS games (since that's all we have) or look at something else (or just get over it).

I have Zelda on both Wii U and Switch.  The Switch version is much better.

Yeah, this game sounds like what I've always wanted from an open world game.

It's a shame that God of War was surpassed. That game was fucking incredible.

I'm just not loving this game.  I mean, I like it, and think it looks amazing,  but it's just not grabbing me. I'm starting to wonder if it's just open world fatigue. I hope Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn't suffer from this for me.

N64 holds a dear place I my heart, as it was my first  console that I didn't have to share and was mine.  

Just like the dreamcast was the first console that paid for.

Will I have to put it upside down to run properly?

A burn against what Microsoft initially proposed.  Let me know when you're no longer able to play a physical copy of Mario Kart 8 on a friend's Switch.

 

With Nintendo, you'll have to subscribe to their online walled-garden paywall to access your saves on another Switch.  That's still bullshit, layered on top of the bullshit that these services represent for every console now.

But hey, at it least it isn't always-online DRM that renders physical copies completely obsolete.  Clearly, things could be much worse.

Remind Sony to enable cross play with other consoles while you're at it. Seems like it's as simple as flipping a switch.
